Hi all,

I sent in my application Feb 9th 2013 and I sent in the OWP and visitor visa extension at the same time. Last Friday, i received the visitor's visa extension for a year. Did anyone have that too? I don't seem to find any mention on the forum, so, just thought I would check. Does this mean that they will not be processing my OWP? I tried calling CIC but the person on the phone simply couldn't give me any further information.

Thanks all! :)

Hi. the OWP will be issued after your sponsor gets the AIP. You sent your app on Feb, so maybe, you will get the OWP around August or September.

@MiaB Welcome!!! I personally love this forum. I've learned so much from it. It helps alleviate the anxiety of the waiting game. ;)

@Dawlex Congrats! I hope you're able to resolve the problem with the medical.

@Canusa31 Same here! Why are they taking forever!!?? Anyone else is concerned?

Anyways, just wanted to pass by and say hi. Oh, and one question. Do any of you have "international health insurance"? What are your thoughts on it?

Hope you guys are having a wonderful week! :D ;)

Hi guys,

I am now filling out the inland forms. If you guys could help on this question, it will be so much grateful for me...

Above is a part of IMM 1344 - Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking

On the guide it is said that :

1. If you check the box to withdraw your sponsorship application then :
* the sponsorship application will not be processed. All fees will be refunded,

2. If you check the box to proceed with the application for permanent residence then :
* the sponsorship application will be refused. None of the fees will be refunded.

The explanation on the guide its quite make me confused because either the box that we are going check it will not be accepted (refuse or will not be processed). But, since i don't have any choice to not check 1 of the boxes, which box that i should check ? Withdraw or proceed ?

and also in this forms :

Above is a part of IMM 5481 - Sponsorship Evaluation

In Form it says that :

Question No. 4 ----> You (the sponsor/my husband) are included in the count by default.

Question No. 5A ---> Current undertaking
Number of persons included in box #3 of the IMM 0008, Under section Application Details.

Question No. 6A ----> Your Spouse or Common-Law Partner. Provide Details on the back of this page.

For Question No. 5A as in box #3 of the IMM 0008 it is only include 1 person which is me (the spouse a.k.a the principal applicant), no dependants and no other family member included in the application. So, i need to answer 1 in the box of 5A right ?

How about Question No. 6A ? Should i put 1 in the box? If it yes, what should i provide the details for this ? info of my marriage or what?

I know this is a long question. but please help me. this forms just freaking me out.

Big Thanks in advance guys..

P

@ LaylaLala, yeah I have no idea if they just forgot to, or maybe they had a ton of applications in early October. There should be another updated tomorrow so I'm hoping that 8 turns into a 28 =). Also lets keep each other updated as we applied at virtually the same time.

Hi I had the same thing happen to me. We sent both OWP and extension just to be safe. They sent us a year's extension. Hoping they process OWP with AIP unless they do both AIP and DM at same time.

Would you be able to fix the mistake in my information? My app was received in April 2nd, not March 2nd. :) Thank you!

Hi All,

I would Love to know why each of you are applying Inland? are you currently in Canada? Please let me know.

If I currently apply In-land what Is the current processing times?

I have a choice for in-land or Outland and my IEC Visa expires Jan 2014...

My biggest note is that I HAVE to keep working and my work permit finished the same time as my visa, Jan 2014. I know the Outland is taking around 7 months for FULL PR?

However If I apply In-land my Lawyer said he can also submit a Work Permit which gets approved a the first stage so I can still work, would that help me out before Jan 2014? Is this true?

What are the Negative things about applying Inland?

I need all of your great knowledge for help

Help!

Thanks

No, the IEC visa is not extendable. Therefore you cannot "extend it" and get "Implied Status" with the OWP that you can apply for with Inland sponsorship. If there is a gap between, you must stop working! If you keep working and CBSA finds out, you can get deported. It has happened!

Read Sweden's post: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/updated-topics/-t148829.0.html;topicseen

Best way to make sure you can keep working is for the employer to get a LMO in July/August. Then you can apply for a work permit.

How long Outland takes depends on your Visa Office. Inland means you shouldn't leave Canada for any reason during the entire 14 months and the appeal option (if needed) is limited compared to Outland. So if you want to visit your family back home - best to wait until after you get PR.

My experience with this forum has taught me a lot of lawyers don't know their stuff!

Hi vananana. When did you send your application of PR? I received my CSQ in March and still I'm waiting for my AIP. In my case, I sent the app to Vergrevill in December. So, I guess I can get my AIP around June or July. If your application was received before October 8th, you can call CIC and ask about your AIP. Getting the AIP, it takes 6-7 months from sending your application.
