A lot of places take it as ID. My podiatrist, who isn't covered by healthcare, wanted by healthcare card too. I asked before I booked my exam because I qualified for healthcare after getting married (in Alberta) and they said no, they don't take healthcare because it's not allowed. Maybe she was lying, I don't know - but no one else accepted the healthcare card either for immigration purposes.Lorelei said:They asked for my health card, and when I said thath I don't have any since I'm not pr they looked at each other and said that in that case I have to pay 300$ to them, and 429$ to the hospital. I mean we are going to pay since we don't have any other options, just felt wierd reading other people expirience and a lot smaller prices.
Fees vary a lot across Canada.
