A lot of places take it as ID. My podiatrist, who isn't covered by healthcare, wanted by healthcare card too. I asked before I booked my exam because I qualified for healthcare after getting married (in Alberta) and they said no, they don't take healthcare because it's not allowed. Maybe she was lying, I don't know - but no one else accepted the healthcare card either for immigration purposes.Lorelei said:

Can you call them back and advise everyone else 'you know' (Yes, you know us!) paid less than $400 in total (doctor/xray/bloods) so can they give you a breakdown of the cost?
