Why securing basic human rights a negative thought? Whether you like what people say or not, as long as they dont say/do thing outside the law, why criticize them just because they are different?
Yes, it's a basic human right...but people should also give others a certain amount of respect. It's common decency. What was said was disrespectful and while it was his opinion, was a damaging opinion that affected people in a negative way. I'm sorry, even though it's a human right, some people should just know what is decent and use their better judgement as to when to voice an opinion. There is a difference between having a right, and abusing it.

Are you saying Jamesdavids is working within the law by working past his IEC expire date and now out of status state and continue to work?

You do realize that Jamesdavid believes that IEC gives him "implied status" to continue working and that his PR application has been returned thus making him "out of status". He still believes he continue to work on "implied status" despite CiC telling him to apply for a "restoration of status" after his application got returned. You do realize that, RIGHT? I guess that mean you believe Jamesdavid is not "illegally working" since he can work while being "out of status" eh?

Good timing to bring up somebody's history to make him look bad eh?

If he doesn't feel right about the whole city being locked down, he has freedom of expression to say. It's up to him to disagree. Disagreement is not wrong or illegal! If he think the incident is not a big deal as compared to other global crisis, it is not illegal to say, too - because he didn't say and do anything that threaten the safety of others, Mr. Police!
Yes, he did. He said that "Everyone is fine...". How does he know that? Did he pick up the phone and call the RCMP to give them the good news too?

Sometimes, it's not a matter of `freedom of expression', but rather simple respect for those that MAY have been impacted by this event.

And...the whole city is not locked down.

I might mention, Jamesdavid is also advising other member(s) to continue working past their IEC expiry date, assuring them that everyone else is wrong, and it is ok because he does it...

So...now what happens??
I sent my application in Sept 2013. I realized this August that according to BC MSP medicare protection Act, AIP is not a requirement for a spouse to get on MSP. I sent in a letter & form to add my husband to my MSP on Aug 29, 2014, and just two days ago my husband received his care card. The effective date is September 1, 2014. I believe there is a 3 month waiting period from when you first become eligible, which, according to the Act, would likely have been a while ago.

I believe that the 3 month 'clock' starts when you've been in Canada for at least 6 months, and have applied for sponsorship/permanent residence.

The waiting period is 2 months, plus the balance of the month that you applied.

Congratulations. You're one of the lucky ones that didn't have to wait for the [unnecessary] AIP!

I know. I feel very lucky. With all the horror stories I've read, I expected much more of a fight.
