The poster here has already graduated and is no longer in school, so there is no possible way to qualify except by age alone.

You are missing my point the OP can be over 22 and still be consider a dependent. CIC classification of a dependent is below however come January 1, 2014 this will not be so anymore

Dependent children
A son or daughter is dependent when the child:

is under age 22 and does not have a spouse or common-law partner,
is over age 22 and has
been enrolled as a full-time student on an ongoing basis and
depended largely on the financial support of a parent since before age 22,

I'm not missing the point as I am really unsure what point you are trying to make. This thread is specifically for the OP, who based on what he posted said he's 21 soon to be 22, he is not enrolled in full time studies, and his mom is a PR. No one in here has said to the OP to wait until after his 22nd birthday to apply, because based on our knowledge from what he told us, he can only qualify on the age alone.

In jamaicafellinlovewithcan's defense, the OP didn't say that he graduated from school. He said he been going to school for 4 years and a student.

I don't recall reading the posts saying that he graduated. Unless I missed a line in OP's posts that he did in fact graduated from school.

Re: I'm 22 can my Mom sponsor me?

No - she can't. You're too old. Also, you're no longer attending school (based on your previous posts) and therefore don't qualify as a dependent child who has been in school on an on-going basis.

The OP had another thread (see above from Scylla). Initially in error the OP stated he is 22 and not 21, therefore the answer was no.

That's why my application must get in by December 18, 2013. It's almost ready, police certificate arrived from Jamaica today. Last document I need now is my Mom's Section C from CRA and that is on it's way.......

The form is for spouse/common law sponsorship. Doesn't apply to you as you are the dependent.

Thanks ....I saw that at the top of the form, but I'm being super cautious so though I would double check here....no room for error.
