Hello, So i could work for a foreign company while staying in canada and it will count under FSW under eligible occupation ?
Let us see....

1. How many hours did you accumulate in your work in one year?
-- Were they at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)? This will be a full time job.
-- Were they at least 1,560 hours total in continuous work during last 10 years? (This can be part time work)

2. What was the NOC / TEER of your work?

3. Does your work meet the lead statement of its NOC description?

4. Does your work meet most of the duties listed in NOC description?

5. Were you paid the market rate in the country in which your job there?

6. Can you experience letter with duties?

7. If you were in Canada as a fulltime student, do keep in mind that there may be objections raised and PFL raised regarding doubts as a genuine student or the work in other country being genuine. Make sure you have documentation and very valid reasons to prove that. In short, working remotely for a job in another country per say does not seems to violate study permit conditions but it can raise questions if a person was genuinely studying in Canada and enter for that purpose or was he using that pretext to live in Canada. Later is trouble.

I am purposefully being a little ambiguous here. This is my (non-lawyer/non-professional/lay) interpretation of those pages that i linked to. I have not faced this situation myself. Feel free to consult a lawyer or a RCIC for a more professional advice.

The official Q&A lays it out quite clearly:
https://www.ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=394&top=29

Student work experience gained while you were studying in Canada or abroad counts towards the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program if the work:

This includes co-op terms and apprenticeships.

Its been good! weekly boat ride to vancouver and port angles. Butchart garden in full bloom. Shit is dope! Going to Tofino next weekend. Hope I do not run into a certain freeloader there. Did I mention moon lit boat ride in salish sea is great?

Oh and sitting along beach drinking sling is fun! I guess I mentioned before, I went to Niagra Falls. Falls is fun but reaching there is an exercise in frustration.
Check out Salt Spring island too. There are some nice airbnbs for 200/night.

Tofino is fun but not a lot to do there personally.

We are looking forward to garibaldi next weekend.

Good to see this thread is still going strong!

Asking for a friend: they are applying for PNP in SK. They have an aunty(PR in SK) who is their Mom's half-sibling (i.e. mom and aunty share a dad but not a mom). Can they claim relatives points for this? TIA!

Good day! I got procedural fairness letter yesterday, and it looks like IRCC officer is not satisfied with the proof of work experience which I’ve attached. Officer suspects that duties mentioned in my proof of work experience do not match the duties listed in the NOC description (NOC 21321 Industrial and manufacturing engineers). Now I need to attach some additional information to prove that I’m eligible for the selected NOC. If anybody received the same letter, can you please advise what documentation you added to your case?

Hello guys. For someone that did not declare a dependent child in their study permit application of which they were denied the visa because of insufficient funds and immigration intent, can they declare the child in their PR application without it becoming an issue of misrepresentation?

I noticed that they stopped inviting general applicants, but French invitation scores are so low. What is this government /minister thinking? It's ridiculous.

I just came across this song by a singer from North Vancouver (the first city I lived in Canada, its a bit special for me). But thats beyond point. Its the song and its lyrics that is rather unsettling. @iSaidGoodDay @canuck78 Have you heard of the band Spirit of the West?

This song is too surreal....

Far Too Canadian

Lyrics...

I'm so content to stand in line
Wait and see, pass the time
Talk a streak, fall asleep
Wake up late, whine and weep
I kiss the hand that slaps me senseless
I'm so accepting, I am so defenseless

I am far too Canadian
I am far too Canadian

I pick the bones of what's been done
And I'll lick them clean with a cautious tongue
In dim lit rooms, I'll spill my guts
I'm the revolution when the doors are shut
I bite the hand that slaps me senseless
But my patience it is.. too relentless

I am far too Canadian
I am far too Canadian

I am the face of my country
Expressionless and small
Weak at the knees, shaken badly
Can't straighten up at all
I watch the spine of my country
Bend and break
I'm in a sorry state

I scratch the walls to mark the days
With my coup-de-tete, I am locked away
With mother Jones, pots of tea
The kitchen poster, anarchy
I never march in demonstration
I hold my breath for arbitration
I am far too Canadian
I am far too Canadian

I am the face of my country
Expressionless and small
Weak at the knees, shaken badly
Can't straighten up at all
I watch the spine of my country
Bend and break
I'm in a sorry state
I am a sorry state
Won't you welcome to the sorry state

Weak at the knees, shaken badly
Can't straighten up at all
Can't straighten up at all
Straighten up at all
All

WTF???? Such a happy music but ... weird depressing lyrics. Whats going on? Anyone heard of them? Their lead singer sadly passed away in 2019.

They're a very well known band in Canada (at least for some generations). Home for a Rest is their best / most famous song. Back when I was in university some bars used to refuse to play it before midnight because they said it started fights. Good times.

I just found them. They are so good! Really really good music. I am listening to their album "Go figure" in a loop. There is lot of context one must understand to truly appreciate their songs.

Basically, it seems, I am "discovering" 80s and 90s of Canada. Lol. The rabbit hole that is reddit never fails to amuse me. Found them by total chance.

Beautiful! Just Beautiful! I never thought that I will fall in love with a band long after my teens and 20s. Irish kind of music with really peppy lyrics! I believe the best times were indeed 80s and 90s, music wise.

Home For A Rest

You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week
I've been drunk since I left
And these so-called vacations
Will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink
I need home for a rest
Chef's kiss! This is perfection!

Apologies for hijacking the thread. But I sincerely believe this song and band should be on Canadian citizenship test.
