I think the later doesn't like the Indian premier eitherAbhiram and Abraham. Sounds alike. Both are probably cheap but one is pro Israel and the other is pro Modi

On the south of the border, Mexicans took the same hate for decades before everyone realized that it is racist to do so. Thankfully, even with a small 40 million sized population, Canadians know how to act better. People who are being openly racist to Indians are very few in numbers and they hold no influence. Its further damning when same yard stick is not applied for German, Italians, Ukrainians population.
Dont be surprised if one is both. There is a good overlap between pro Israel and pro Modi folks.Abhiram and Abraham. Sounds alike. Both are probably cheap but one is pro Israel and the other is pro Modi
I wish our folks were a bit ... errr... less divided. There are factions who ... sometimes just want to disown their own for the sake or it or as a part of their identity. At least politically we would we better off if we act as a one unit.On the south of the border, Mexicans took the same hate for decades before everyone realized that it is racist to do so. It is a little sad to this see this hate, but we Indians don't need a phobia law to help us out. Our work, our growth and our top 1% representation will take care of it.
I guess the issue is one type of people taking over the country. They become a big political force and start imposing their agenda, whatever that might be. What if they create India 2.0? I don't think anyone wants that to happen. Diversity dilutes each group's power.China of 90s and 00s (the duration where maximum Chinese immigration happened) was not really upto the western "norms". Iranians and Chinese do not have same culture as British and Scottish Old Growth Canadians.
And even Ukranians do not share same language and culture as Canadians. Eastern europeans have a distinct culture and norms. Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Regina have large proportion of Ukranian population.
So I do not buy the norm and culture part. Skin color may be but these are not the same people or even same culture. The fact they also like to live closely shows they have similar ghetto like behaviour that Iranians, Chinese and Indians have.
I fail to understand why do you claim these conditions to be specific to India? China has similar issue. Iran too. A large part of Africa as well. So should Canada shutdown immigration from these "undersiable" parts of the world? Even if you try to diversify, you will not be able to weed out such situations. And, no, europe with its aging population can not keep on sending its young folks to Canada.
And no once more, it is NOT obvious as why the folks coming specifically from India are the issue, and how come so called "diversifying" going to solve this? In Canada practically ALL communities display ghetto kind of behaviour by sticking close of their fellow ethnic folks.
As far as diwali celebration goes, I can claim how come stanley cup riot is A-okay but one conflict in diwali celebration suddenly breaks the nation.
Burh, we Indians don't have any agenda. It is impossible to have one as we are so diverse that no two provinces/state from India even share the same food or ideology. India 2.0 can't happen, I still wonder how India itself happened as the country is way too different to co-exist as a single nation.I guess the issue is one type of people taking over the country. First thing first, Indians themselves are pretty diverse and are seldom on the same page. Especially punjabi and non punjabi.I guess the issue is one type of people taking over the country. The hate is eventually going to haunt them back. These dumb hyperboles will eventually hurt their own kids and families.I wish our folks were a bit ... errr... less divided. The argument is that there are too many immigrants coming from India (talking about PR's only) and so far, I have only seen keyboard warriors complain about this, not experienced anything like this myself in person.I thought actually that this thread was about the FSW stream. No, all I see is a specific country bashing? India 2.0?
I'm not Indian myself but why should we bash/blame IRCC or the people who moves from their country simply because they ask for a better life? let's not forget that even the first people who sat foot here are also immigrant. No one should ever take a patronizing position.
By that stupid logic, they should just open up Canada to millions of people from Asia, LATAM, and Africa without any planning or checks and controls. Will work out greatI thought actually that this thread was about the FSW stream. No, all I see is a specific country bashing? India 2.0?

Because it's a win win situation. The argument is that there are too many immigrants coming from India (talking about PR's only) and so far, I have only seen keyboard warriors complain about this, not experienced anything like this myself in person.
From international students perspective, Canada seems to be addicted to them.
Maybe the stupidity lies in the way my sentence was understood. I didn't say let people come without checks. That should be a due diligence task for IRCC to do in order to select the specific people who'll be contributing positively into the Canadian society . Wherever they come from. PeriodBy that stupid logic, they should just open up Canada to millions of people from Asia, LATAM, and Africa without any planning or checks and controls. Will work out great
Thats dishonest. There is a selection criteria and I am sure anyone on this thread know lately how hard it has become to fit it to that. People have taken to learning a totally new language (french) for that. If they tighten it further, it makes sense. What does not make sense is to set limits according to country of birth.By that stupid logic, they should just open up Canada to millions of people from Asia, LATAM, and Africa without any planning or checks and controls. Exactly, the moment you become bilingual in the official languages you're already better than 82 % of the population of Canada ( Bilingual rate in Canda in 2021 is 18%).Thats dishonest.
