Does anyone know how accurate the travel history needs to be? There are no entry/exit stamps in my passport(s) to Hong Kong. And, visa to Taiwan is issued on a separate paper for residents in Hong Kong, which was collected upon departure. I could only use my memory and collections of old air tickets and boarding cards to reconstruct my travel history. And, starting sometimes in the last 15 years, the year was no longer printed on either the air ticket or the boarding cards. I may mixed up the dates for some of the trips. (I assumed travel history was only for travels outside home country and country of residents - so I skipped a bunch of those trips between Hong Kong and USA.) Does anyone have any ideas on these? Thanks ahead.

I struggled with this too because I've made so many trips and cannot remember the exact length in days of many of them. I had to use an annexure because there wasn't enough space on the form, so at the top of the annexure I made a note that all trip lengths are accurate to within 3 days and are to the best of my recollection. This was on the advice of my immigration attorney. I suggest not intentionally omitting any travel.

As per my understanding, Assets are only LIQUID ASSETS with verifiable value.

e.g The instruction guide says

Indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of fixed deposits, savings accounts, pensions, etc.
Indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of real property mortgages and any other personal debts.

So, ASSETS does not include properties. Therefore, no need to provide in related document or include the value.

Doesn't "real property mortgages" count as "Property"?

Seniors have a tricky Situation :

1. I need almost 10 lac RS for three applicant

2. I have 7 lac in my account but EMI goes almost 40k monthly for loan of 40 lac for a property. That property has inital cost of 50 lac . If I show bank balance is it enough or I need to show property as well.As I heard india Visa office dont considerproperty . But then they should not consider property loan as liabilty..

Please help

The form asks for total assets and liabilities. Property counts.

You have to mention exact number of days you traveled in any country. Because they do back ground check of your travel history also.

Not true and to my knowledge it is not possible for Canada to examine the entry/exit records of other countries. You do need to be as accurate as possible and if there is a reason why information may not be accurate, state why. This is on the advice of my immigration lawyer.

i have only 2 dependents
spouse
daughter 2 years old.

do i have to fill Additional Dependants/Declaration Form (IMM 0008DEP) ??

my spouse and daughter are included in the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008).

No, you only need to fill in the additional dependants form if you have more dependants than can fit on the generic application.

Remember though, don't tick the box on the checklist for the additional dependants form if you are not including one. Just write N/A in the box instead.

Can anyone please Explain

Assets = jewellery , bank balance ,property?

Liabilities = mortgage or debt . i own a property i have not taken any mortgage . i have no debt on me. should i write 0 ?

Total funds = bank balance + property value ? suppose i have 18000 cnd in bank and property value is 16000 cnd then my total funds will be 34000 ?

Yes on assets. Bank balance, investments, jewelry, property.

Yes on liabilities. Write 0 or NONE.

Settlement funds are assets that are liquid or easily liquidatable. Such as cash, time deposits, stocks and bonds that can easily be sold on public stock markets, that kind of thing. Settlement funds don't include properties or physical items that may not be easily convertible to cash.

In Schedule A, 8. Personal History...What will be "Status in Country" , if it is my Motherland.

Guys!! An very Important question / please reply soon.

If someone finds that he missed a page in one of form and application already reached CIC ,and needs to send the missing part

Is there any specific Email id where we can send the form as an attachment or sending courier again is only way out?

Kindly reply

Property mortgage is a loan, so ur loan will come in liability section but property will not.

I consulted a candian lawyer expert in immigration, he informed me that to have ur property included as asset u need to get its value appraised by Internationally acceptable evaluator. Any other valuation is not Acceptable such as purchase value, or even value of similar properties advertised on real estate websites.
