Hi.

We got PR early July and landed with no issues shortly after in Pearson.
Sorry for not updating as often but it has been crazy adjusting life here, learning English, finding a job.

The landing experience was nice. The officer was quite friendly and informative.
However, the logistics was not so nice. The line was long and people were asked to line somewhere only to be told to move to another room and line again to be eventually told that the first place we were lining up in was correct all along.
The interview lasted about 30 minutes but the officer was quite friendly and took the time to also tell us some basic info (such as how to get SIN and OHIP) All in all it was a smooth process (other than the lining up)

Good luck everyone.
If you have any questions let me know.

Congrats Kokonatsu and all those that received the good news recently.

My husband had his interview this morning at 8:30 AM in Havana, Cuba. They didn't ask him a single question, only for his passport and his criminal records clearance.

After a few hours of waiting they returned the application package we submitted to him.

They asked him to return to the embassy at 2:00 PM to pick up his passport.

He now has his PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is due to arrive (God Willing) in Toronto at 1:00 PM this friday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!~

Update for us - Turns out CIC never "received" our Medical or the receipt of payment for the RPRF *eyeroll* Wouldn't surprise me honestly if they just lost it. They've also requested an FBI background and want it by the 15th of October. . . except it takes 12 weeks to get one.

Went to our MP today, going to look into where our documents are and why they haven't received them when we have all the proof it was done and sent, as well as trying to get us more time to get our background check in.

At this rate, I'm going to assume permanent residency will be more likely around April of next year *sigh*

Aww that sounds awful, and super unproffessional on CIC part :(

Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear this! I was actually just thinking about you this morning and wondering if you had heard anything. How did you find this all out? Did you call them? Or was it in a letter? Hopefully you'll get news before April! I'm still waiting on news too. No updates on my end.

We received an email yesterday afternoon :\ they made sure to emphasize this was our "Final Notice" It put me into a meltdown and I cried the better part of yesterday. Hopefully will all work out.

Everything will be OK Miss.... don't worry,
things will work for the best

Just an update:

I did my morning ecas check and finally we have a DECISION MADE!

We received your application for permanent residence on February 26, 2014.

We started processing your application on September 29, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

It never went to In Process even. Also, we never got a PPR. Is this all normal? Should I be concerned? I don't want to do a happy dance just yet until I get the physical paper saying "Welcome!"

My husband never got PPR either. I think there are quite a few people going through Ottawa that haven't got PPR within the last few months.

Thanks MizAngel! Happy to hear it's normal then. :)

Heard Back from our MP today

She said that she confirmed over the phone that CIC doesn't have our medical or proof we paid our fee.

Ironically, the assistance from the MP helping us originally used to work for the Dr. Who performed my medicals, and was in in disbelief on how you "lose" or can't find an e-medical form. The Dr.'s office says they can't resend them. . . . I will be LIVID if I have to pay to have it done AGAIN!

MP has requested they not close our application on the 15th of October since we have started the process to get our FBI clearance done. We are sending our receipt out again tonight along with a completed form that we did our medicals.

Praying things smooth out.
