Still no word.

Called our MP and they told us until 90 days had passed from our bring forward date they couldn't help me, to call back then.

I had originally posted this question in the Havana thread but it's pretty quiet over there and I haven't heard anything. I was wondering if anyone over here could maybe help answer it?

I'm trying to figure out whats the time frame between when you get "in process" to having a visa... I didn't find what I was looking for but I did notice something about the medical exam..

We did the medical Sept 25, 2013. The one year anniversary of that day is coming really close, which is when the medical expires. If he doesn't have his visa/interview by then will he be asked to re-do the medical?!?! Thats kind of what I gathered from the previous posts on the forum, but could things have changed or be different for each VO? Those posts were from 2012...

Also, of course my original question is how much longer waaaa?

I booked a 1 week trip to Cuba October 27 but I am hoping he will be here and I won't have to use it.

Re: the medical - it depends how close they are on issuing the visa. Sometimes they decide to extend the medical results, sometimes they might ask for him to redo it. It's up to CIC.

Thank You MizAngel!!

It has been almost 2 months since the Passport Request... and nothing from Manila Visa Office,
I went to visit my MP office,
they were very attentive and will help me to find out what is going on,
no promises,
but they will look into the matter...

At least that is something....

I leave just 2 blocks from my MPs office... so its easy to pay a visit....
and I was lucky enough for them to take my enquire and to take the time
to look into it.

Yes, the MP office called me to inform me that they are doing
background check at this moment
.... and that our file is within the time frame.

Also he said that the file went for Background check on August 13,

To the best of my knowledge they do background check on me
and also background on hers.... just as when we begin the process...

Timeframe for background check and sponsor approval is now 45 day...
Maybe I will need to wait around 45 days for the background check to
be completed... I don't know... but most likely I think..

That means that I may have Decision Made by September 28....
over 3 months from the date that we received Passport Request.... :-[ :-[ :'(

Looks like Manila is open for Business again...

A few got Decision made today.... Someone that applied in May got already DM...

that was fast.... she most be missingthem.

Was hoping for a visa in September.. but looks like its not going to happen...

But at least, if we get DM I will be happy.....

No news here... (also Manila).

Just worried about the second police certificate we sent, if they'll reject it again or not... At the moment, feel like no news is good news. I suppose our application will take longer to process anyway, since I've lived outside my home country for so long. Or so I tell myself, so that I can be patient.

still nothing from Ottawa. it's like watching paint dry. i think i'm getting a small twitch in my left eye.

Today my husband in Cuba received a call from the Canadian Embassy in Havana. He has been asked to attend the Embassy with his passport and criminal record clearance certificate on October 1, 2014 at 8:30 AM. God willing they will be issuing him a visa within a few days!

I'm just curious if he originally included a police clearance and they are now asking for another one?

He did, and it expired because in Cuba they are only valid for 6 months. Now he has to submit another one.
