Hey guys! Got a quick question, does anyone here knows the expiration grace of a permanent residency visa? 6 months upon issuance?
It's written on the COPR Document. It's based on the expiry date of the passport and /or the medical examination, whichever comes first.

Hi everyone!

We sent our application Feb 25 2013. I was accepted as a sponsor on March 23rd. June 8 we were asked for additional docs. August 9th the office treating our file (Accra) got the additional docs. No news from them since.... Any one here got asked for additional docs? How long did it take to get news?

Another concern is our Medicals expire in Octobre... Will they ask to have them retaken given that they acknowledged receipt of meds already? So confused :(

Uhm, so my wife did her medicals last year NOVEMBER, and its going to be October tomorrow, which means WE ONLY HAVE A MONTH TO GET HER HERE? and she doesnt even have her visa yet. Doesn't make sense to me..

It's either she gets her visa before the medical expiry and land before that date, or do a remedical to extend the validity of the visa for another year.

He is a citizen in Canada already. He came from England.Yes he is the sponsor. We don't know what to put in the IMM 5540 Sponsor Questionnaire Question No. 9

What Canadian visa office issued your immigrant visa or confirmation of permanent residence?

He became permanent resident 2008.

Please help us.

What I put in the form tentatively is Citizenship and Immigration Canada Office- Toronto

Are we right? If not please help us what to answer here...

Thanks a lot...

abscott

Hi Gondi friend! I am very very happy for you and your wife!

Thank you for your thoughts about us! Have a happy life. Let me know the exact day of receiving your visa so I can update you!

Tom

Tom,
My wife received the stamped passport yesterday and we plan to land December 5th so feel free to update. It's unbelievable the stress and the wait time for what is basically a Canada sticker on her passport! In retrospect, 8.5 months is not a long wait compared to most countries and it gave us time to save and put money together for our Canada nest egg. Good luck to all. ;)

I don't have anything that says "Medicals Received"! Is this bad? We did them before we even sent our application....they should have received them, no? Oh no, now I'm worried :o I hope things work out for the best....

hello,
I am Italian and I am waiting for the visa to return to Quebec for my husband.
I want to ask how long after you have received your visa, yesterday the site added that they have received the medicals results.
Thanks
giovanna

Congrats! May I ask what is the expiration date on your wife's visa? Is it the same date as the date she did her medical?

CONGRATS!! I am also with Ottawa and my passport request was made August 28th. My ecas changed this past weekend to decision made. It said DM was September 13. It was exactly 2 weeks from the time I emailed them my scanned passport until I got the DM so you should hopefully get DM within the next week. Good luck!!

Hi!
I was wondering did you received your COPR?
I received mine on September 27, 2013 and landed October 5, 2013 :)

We have to be in Canada by the 24th of January at the latest. My wife's medical will not have expired by then.

I must say, I was a little surprised that all we got was a visa sticker with immigrant written on it. It's kind of unnerving as the sticker itself looks very easy to forge.
