Yes, but as usual, no news! Last week an agent (who's based in Montreal) submitted a note about my case to the Mississauga office, and today the agents I talked to just told me to wait for some news... *sigh*

Literally 2 minutes ago I just finished talking to someone from my MP's office. She told me that the CIC totally underestimates their processing times, and in fact many MPs have been advocating for a better system to process these applications.

She said they're going to do their best to find out what's going on with my application, and they will let me know ASAP. She said that MPs have a special line.....a "direct MP line" that they use to reach the Mississauga office directly, to even reach people from their mailing room/warehouse, and who knows, possibly the team who store package movements into the CIC's computer database...!

(5 seconds ago littleraly ;D) I checked my email, there was nothing, came on the forum, read the last posts then refreshed my email and there it was

Congrats to everyone who got SA's AOR's this week.

Messenger I really hope your AOR will get there soon. And as for the time I got the email at 9:35 PM Paris time, so that would make it 10:35 in Greece.

Fandv seeing as you've surpassed the processing times stated on the website, shouldn't they be able to give you a more concrete answer than just stating the obvious. and what exactly does it mean that they have no news about it????!?!
I'm not sure exactly what you can do maybe Sweden or the more experienced members would have some input.

Basically last week (Thursday 7 March 2013) I already reported that they'd surpassed my normal processing times, and an agent asked for my Canada Post tracking number, the date it reached CPC-M, CIC payment receipt number, and passed those pieces of info to the Mississauga office.

So when I called them today (twice), they said they still had no news from the Mississauga office (the call centre is actually in Montreal). So, "no news" means no response yet from Mississauga to the note that that agent submitted on 7 March...

Okay that's more resonable I thought they just said no news as in this was the first time that they talked to you and didn't know anything about it.
But at least they took all your info and are looking into it, so now it should just be a matter of time

Hi Buddies,
Congrats to those who got AOR's and SA's recently. Good luck with your process.

Once again I wish to remind people who are awaiting initial response from CPC-M, do not panic if it has crossed the processing time. Keep bullying the CIC call centre. Trust me some agents are really down to earth who will try to help you and some don't.

Out of my own experience last time i called , i had to hang up after the agent said me "NO updates" and had to call back to check my mailing address and other agent informed me it was ready to be mailed out. So give a try with another call.

Here goes my question,
I got an AOR from CPC-M last week. Tried looking in E-CAS for sponsor's UCI and sponsor's last name and DOB and country of birth. Returned historical information for the sponsor (Not having the latest sponsor application listed)

Just gave a try with the applicant last name and application number and applicant's dob and country of birth eventually got a hit with permanent residence application.

Does it sound normal where the sponsor UCI is not updated in E-cas where the applicant is updated?

Hope this week everyone around will see more action from CPC and VO.

the Canada i remember was a system that cared for it's citizens and even the ones who choose d it as a place to live. Now I see an indifference about peoples feelings. A Canadian agency such CIC should had a more humane approach because what people are going through for this is not your everyday thing.
It has to do with agony for families who are longing to re unite so I believe they should be more organized and prepared to face up to the flow of applications. One misplaced package is one package too many and is unforgivable!
MIS in the private sector as well as in public sector is thriving these days, even in smaller and poorer countries. I've been hearing that the processing system in CIC is not very modern. Correct me if I am wrong here!

Just got an email from someone in my MP's office. She said she spoke to a rep at CIC Mississauga today, and the rep said that since an agent already submitted a note on my behalf last week, I have to wait till there's a response.
And the rep mentioned to the MP's assistant that I'll need to wait for 2 more weeks to get an answer.

In other times of my life I would have actually enjoyed this period of waiting. (I've been through it back in 1980)
It's just that lately, with my spouses pregnancy being a very difficult one for her mostly as well as for me, seeing her suffering from constant vomiting, plus the anxiety of the events happening here in Greece, plus my wish to be in Canada asap has resulted in changing me to become a little complainer . And I don't like this part of me as it is not me! I must find another way to keep my interest focused away from just expecting when to see my inbox again

Yes the CIC sometimes sends sponsorship approvals through regular mail, even though an email address is specified. No apparent reasons I guess!

And the letter definitely goes to the sponsor's mailing address
