....and there's not a darn thing wrong with freedom of speech, either.
With that being said however, I can't really say what I would do if I was faced with that kind of situation. Hopefully, I would've found a job already so that I could land on my own feet. That would be the ideal situation.
However, if my sponsor agreed to sponsor me, and then chose to toss me out on my ear as soon as I land, then I'll be blunt by saying that she's signed a contract, making her legally obligated to take care of my basic needs for three years. Of course, the same contract also states that I would need to make every reasonable effort to support myself - which would obviously mean getting a job. Now, I'm a proud and stubborn guy and I'll be damned if I end up having to go on welfare just to survive. However, I also know full well that there's a lot of people out of work in this day and age, and that because of that reason, it won't be easy to find any kind of work. Will it be impossible though? No. But will I be able to find work in a timely enough matter while I wouldn't need help? Realistically, I'm not too sure. Especially not in this economy.
Lastly, I still have family in the States, and going back to be with family is certainly an option. I would likely be looking for work in both countries in any case, and I would likely go to where I'm hired, irrespective of which country the job is located.
But I'll have to be honest when I say that if it was me asking for advice on what to do in this situation, and there were judgmental folks on this board already accusing me as a criminal without even knowing the whole situation, then why in the hell would I even bother to return to this forum? I know I'm not a criminal. My wife knows I'm not a criminal, and so does her family as they've all seen my clean police records. Therefore, I feel I don't have to tolerate being talked to, or otherwise be treated like a criminal. But that's just me.
But it does make me wonder how bad guys can immigrate into Canada when every prospective immigrant has to get a police certificate, and go through a background check first before they can get a PR visa to land with. Or, maybe some of these guys are really slick enough to never get caught? I don't really know, but given that the world is clearly not black and white, it therefore must be possible for these situations to happen. God knows there are people out there that are desperate enough for freedom and opportunity that they will do whatever it takes to get it. After all, the 11 million or so undocumented migrants in my country surely didn't happen by accident.

That's the great gift Canada has given us "freedom of speech" If i started this post I would be back to get my advice and defend myself if I'm innocent and I don't agree with welfare and this person needs to stand on his/her own two feet or go back to where he/she come from we have enough social burden.
