I decided to email them, to see if they'd tell me anything, and they got back saying:

Your application is in process in Ottawa. No further action is required by you at this time.
An immigration officer will be in contact with you if any further correspondence is needed.
We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

This what they asked of my husband..

In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:

Ø Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from Mexico. This must be received at this office by: 08/11/2013

Ø COPY OR SCANNED IMAGE of your passport and passports of your accompanying family members, as noted below.


Now at the end of the email it says:

Please submit all the requested items together in a single package. Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence and address your correspondence to CPP-O at the address indicated below.


So does that mean that he can't email.. a copy of his scanned passport separate? and then when he gets his police certificate send it by mail? or does he have to wait and then send it all together?

they are also requesting his criminal check from Mexico..( we asked for it 2 months ago to get things started and going but we still haven't heard anything... i dont know what is going on.. :S)

Congratulations! I've updated the spreadsheet. It's good that you've already requested the clearance certificate from Mexico, because requests for docs with PPR can already add a couple of months to processing. I hope it all goes smoothly!

They're specifically asking for the docs together, so they want them by mail so they don't have to process docs for your file twice.

Very exciting! It looks like things are actually picking up on our spreadsheet despite the strike, lots of activity. I'm down in Texas, and my hubby is in Alberta, so I'm kind of freaking out about getting everything packed and all my accounts, paperwork, mail, etc. settled as well as disposing of my car. Ready to fast forward a couple of months!

IvanP is correct about the additional time the extra documents add to the process. We got the PPR email in February one day and then the very next day we got another email adding an RCMP police check. This added a additional 2 months to our processing. Unfortunately we were in the States when we received the request and the RCMP police check requires digital fingerprints which can only be done in certain places in Canada. Fortunately, while it did slow things down, we did get everything done and deadlines met and COPR arrived in May and landing occurred in May. Frustrating addition of wait time but end result excellent

Yeah we sent our request for Mexican police certificate early knowing they would probably ask for it. Yet it has been two months and we haven't heard back so hopefully we will hear something soon.. we don't want our application to be delayed much...

Quick question That I just thought of,

When requesting the scanned copy of your passport, in what situations will CIC request for a police check to be resent to them?

Since everyone has already sent them a police clearance in the original application, why ask for it again?

got my PPR yesterday (6/11/2013) as well! Though they are asking for proof of residing in canada from my wife and proof of funds as well typical scans of passports for me and my son.Interview was also waived.

I find it odd that they are asking for proof of income though...
