Eventually, the plan is to get PR within canada, therefore, they couldnt transfer files outside Canada. The unknown factor is what is bothering us, how long and where is the process now? No timeframe was provided as well.

Any PPR today for this forum/ new activities in the GCMS notes.

Its been 3 months since the transfer happened, reasonable time to see some activities. If no significant activities on GCMS/ECAS (address is a programming issue, not activities) than Ottawa may not started processing them. Does anyone know from their MP if their is any promised/expected time frame to process the July 7 transfer cases? Is anyone getting their GCMS soon?

well if ECAS status is Application Received, Medical Received, and In process then no change is expected till the PPR. :-\

Have you asked Ottawa that your medical is expired?

no....I dont see any point in asking them....they will reply that we will instruct you if medicals are required again...

I got a reply from them in June saying that application is in process....no action required...that standard copy paste.

Well just saying, if even the assumed 3 months grace period is over than they have either ask you to redo the medical (additional 2 months delay) or review some bylaw to add more grace period. The problem is its a vague situation in Ottawa, nobody knows what they will do. Also they are adding more delays to our processing time---first 3 months transfer, than uncertainty in medical (after another 3 months wait if they come up with redoing the medical, this will add unnecessary 2 months delay). I don't know why nobody cares about us.

yep man its very stressful.......so many things are tied up with this PR that I want to get over with it...just want the system to be fair..closing down of one office should not cause the applicants to suffer.

dun want to bug them again and again as well.....will slow down everyone really but the problem is, all the system is extremely random right now....so you feel compelled to ping them so that at least they see your file...that is causing all the anxiety...

Yes I agree. Even at this point I would be really happy if Ottawa confirmed this will take another six months and will get my PPR by then.

just got a reply from MP on our application inquiry..

MP:
"Case Processing has not responded to our inquiry that was sent on your behalf. We have however been informed that 35,000 files were recently transferred from Buffalo to the new Case Processing office in Ottawa. At this point in time, we have been unable to obtain a timeframe for processing those applications.

The Minister is fully aware of the concerns expressed by stakeholders and applicants that it sometimes takes too long to process applications and therefore the Department continues to explore new ways to improve service which in turn leads to shortened processing times."

35,000 ,such a huge number of files waiting to process ???..

35000 that's not a lot, the files were transferred 90 days ago, if they did 388 application a day, they can finish 35000 in 90 days. if they had 100 employees working on applications, that's an average of 3.88 application per day per employee, i think this number is reasonable, so 90 days is more than enough to work all the 35000 applications.

i just spoke to my mp, she said that the rumor about january 2013 is not correct and that it will take more, they tried to process the applications as fast as they can but the process is not 100 % controlled by immigration, the main issue here is the background check, it take too long to get the results and therefore they cannot go further in process until they get a final report on the background check.

the medical report she mentioned that 99% of the time has to be redone,if it expires, immigration will send u an email to resend them medicals all over again.

this is basically what i have for the day, not so much a good news this is, but at least we know the truth.
keep your hopes high guys and pray for the best, that's all we can.
most of us have their lives on hold waiting for the outcome of this processing nightmare. i advise each one to keep busy , it will help make the waiting a lot less stressful

god bless

cpp-o cannot give a fixed date to process all applications, simply because they cannot come up with a date . if they do, it would be a lie.
their process is not entirely in control. they need some six sigma and lean manufacturing tools to improve their process.

Oh man .. when will this all end? People who went in process in buffalo and got eligibility was passed, I think they are in a better position!

I think it's the criminality check that is eating up all the time. For some, it may take ages to complete! Even for 2012 applicants, people that have applied in Dec/Jan have yet to get their PPR. However, a Chinese guy that applied in June, 2012 got his PPR today.

I don't think it's random. It can't be. It all boils down to criminality check. People that have applied from their native countries are much better off. We in the mean time just keep waiting. ::)
