I am not sure now if that January 2013 is true or not? Its a rumour but your MP said they cant tell when the files are supposed to be finalised! Well, we shall keep on waiting..

Have you ordered GCMS lately?

just got a reply from MP on our application inquiry..

MP:
"Case Processing has not responded to our inquiry that was sent on your behalf. We have however been informed that 35,000 files were recently transferred from Buffalo to the new Case Processing office in Ottawa. At this point in time, we have been unable to obtain a timeframe for processing those applications.

The Minister is fully aware of the concerns expressed by stakeholders and applicants that it sometimes takes too long to process applications and therefore the Department continues to explore new ways to improve service which in turn leads to shortened processing times."

35,000 ,such a huge number of files waiting to process ???..
Did they have any plan on the transferred files or they just shut down buffalo and transferred those 35,000 files? Do you know the capacity of Ottawa per year? This is a huge number ::) to process.

Hi Everyone!

I have been religiously following this forum before even applying for my PR. I would like to thank all of you for the help and hope you give each other.

As you you can guess from my user name, this will be about the PR timelines.

My application was received in June 2010 and I filled medicals around a year ago. Ever since medicals, i haven't received any communication and the last thing my ecas has is "Medicals Received".

I know I am in the same boat as many other people here. I have got a few questions I wasn't able to find an answer for online, so I hope you guys can be kind enough to help me as the wait is killing me everyday.

I live in Vancouver and currently under PNP nomination and waiting for PR request. My questions are:

1) How do many of you know that their applications have been transfered to Ottawa Pilot office? I tried inquiring about my case but guess what Ottawa Office replies: "Generic email: Due to many applications, we can't give you ....etc"

2) What happens when it's been more than a year since I did medicals, do I have to redo them, will CIC ask me to do them again?

3)The GCMS notes, should I give them a try? I looked in the forum and the only instructions I could find are the ones which is for people not living in Canada since it's requiring a requestor. What are the guidlines for people already in Canada, how do we get these notes

4) Since it has been more than 16 months since they received my application, what is the current normal processing time??

I really hope you guys can help me with these questions and I really pray for everyone to get theirs soon!

1. You can find it through GCMS.

2. Most applicants have had their applicants expired. Most probably they will be extended. If they require you to redo medicals, they will ask you for it.

3. Refer to page 16 of this thread

4. Processing times arent available as we are transferred cases. Nearly everyone on this thread has exceeded the 15 month timeline. We havent started receiving PPR so cant say what the expected timeline could be.

I am in the exact same situation and extremely confused as well. I hope Detroit gives 60 days to submit the passport because if it is 30 days, then someone(=me) is screwed.
Arent you a May transfer? Did you get GCMS? Hardly any PPR from transfer applicants, I am wondering if we would even get PPR before this year ends? :-[

It's not rational CIC just transfer 35,000 files without putting them under any project or flag. Buffalo used to have 75 consulate staffs who used to handle all the files. Not sure how many CPP-Ottawa has now. I still think they have a plan for those transferred cases.

Also its hard to believe they have transferred 35,000 files to CPP- Ottawa. What about other visa offices- Seattle etc? Again the MP offices are apparently giving mixed information (12 months from the transferred dates/ 2013 Jan/ not able to predict any time line), thats where I am mostly confused (looks like they are not aligned with CIC and among themselves). May be they don't have enough information, and we can't do anything except wait. Only Sydney, NS applicants are promised with a set time frame. Lets hope for the best.

35,000 is strange!

the numbers they accept annually(Study, work, PPR) is about 250,000. it means buffalo proceeds like 10% or more?! sounds a bit strange.
even if we consider it the accumulated number for the last couple of years.

and not every case is the same.

This is definitely a huge chunk if the number is right, without any project it would be hard to streamline.

One thing I don't understand why the MP offices are not aligned. There seems lack of coordination among the provinces and CIC.

PNP category is designed to boost the economy of the province, so province must be aware of their budget and PR allocation. They are supposed to miss a huge chunk of PR from 2011-2012 of their budget due to not having those PR from transferred cases, aren't they? Why they are not worried about the mismatch?

Usually the PR is designed as 15 months program. Now it seems CIC is giving up processing of the buffalo cases, and processing 2012 cases in 6-8 months. Thats how they are achieving faster immigration processing ;D.

Eventually, the plan is to get PR within canada, therefore, they couldnt transfer files outside Canada. The unknown factor is what is bothering us, how long and where is the process now? No timeframe was provided as well.
