i'd say....criminality is "fast" since you have to provide PCC's...they'll prove there's nothing fishy going on. security takes the most time, since they check your personal history and all the stuff since the last 10 years....that can take time....

my guess....

Attached link explained the security check for CIC little bit---

http://www.csis-scrs.gc.ca/nwsrm/bckgrndrs/bckgrndr09-eng.asp

Quote-"Screening requests for immigrants applying to CIC from within Canada are now all conducted electronically between the Service and CIC. Requests related to immigrants applications from outside of Canada traditionally took longer to process since such applications were sent to the Service on hard copy forms and mailed via diplomatic bags."

Some stats-
Over the fiscal year 2003-2004, the Service received some 44,907 requests for Immigration Screening from within Canada (including RDP) and issued 46,183 security clearance assessments. Additionally, the Service received some 24,243 Immigration Screening applications from outside Canada and 4,646 from the United States for a total of 73,796 immigration cases. The median turnaround time was 42 days (through the Electronic Data Exchange Program) for requests from within Canada.

Isnt this telling the fingerprints thing needed? I dont think thats the issue here. For checking reliability of PCC and additional screening the checks are done by sending them to the original countries. Thats how long it takes for the checks to be completed.

Isnt fingeprint just for canada and not to be used for other countries?

don't know it that exact, "my source" was a cop at the RCMP, retired now. he said, they use it for Interpol. :-X :)

First Find ur Local MP by using the website mentioned below. Then contact the office by going in person/phone or email.

Use your zip code

http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC

Hope this helps... :)

Well everybody uses the same procedure. This was suggested to me someone from the forum. I haven't used it myself since my application timeline is still within the processing times and
as people suggested on the forums that Local MP will usually tell you to contact them if your case has exceeded the immigration processing times and you have not received any updates.

Come on Guys...

Lets stop guessing. Believe it or not, there is nothing about it

The fact is that bunch of App files have been transfered to an office, which already is busy with other stuff.
I also believe that they dont really care about people who want to become PRs. They dont even care about their own people.

These ideas are just frustrating us.
We should not take them into account.
As sharuu told before whole thing would be likely done by the New Year.

MPs are crazy. they are answering the same question with different answers

Lets remain cool/.

Hey Mr . Sharuu...
I was with the guy writing about his long wait, not your highness

I know.. just wanted to have a little humour ;D dont we need it?

There is nothing we can do to speed it, MP's are getting the same answer all of us are, no timeline can be predicted file is in process. All we can do is wait or get GCMS every now and then to see if any updates are made. By new year, hopefully some of us should be through! I know these are anxious moments, be patient guys!

I haven't opened my crossed fingers for a while Boss.

Cheer up folks... lets celeberate the 2nd day of Octobor...
