My ecas changed to "in process" this morning around 2AM EDT. It said that "Processing on Aug 23". Then the letter for Med Reg dated Aug 24. So it should be soon for anyone with ecas changed to "In Process"

hmmm... something doesn't feel right. You get the med request though similar status change as mine. Is this a sign of any bad outcome for my case? I can't wait to check my mailbox today. Another thrilling day in the pitch black dark tunnel ::)

Don't worry, dude. I live in the city (NYC), so the regular mail take one days to reach me. If you're far from the city, wait few more days for the good news to come. Cheapo mail takes at least 7-10 business days to be delivered ;).

Hey all - I just came across this site and forum..Looks like there are many of us on the same boat..
My last AOR was received on Apr 15th,2010...The status is showing as "Recieved by Visa office"...

Any idea how long does it take on an average for this status to change and go to the next level ?

Buffalo office says 30-52 weeks, we all are in queue

Hi Smallduck,

What you are thinking about the new FBI copy? I was wondering, what if I request for another FBI copy right now. It will take 2-3 months to come and I guess by that time LA office may ask me to send a new FBI record like they asked you. It costs only 15-20$.
What you guys suggest me? My file has been transferred to LA office on Aug 18.. if everything goes well I might get Med request and see a change of status to in process by next 1-3 months. So, is it a good idea to request a new FBI copy...in case they ask for?

if yes, then I have one question... First time when I requested my and my wife's FBI copy was in last Dec. Our fingerprint was taken around Dec 15, 2009. I still have a second copy of that fingerprint. Now my wife went back to my home country. Do you guys think I can use the old fingerprint for a new FBI copy for me and my wife as well? obviously our fingerprint has not changed!!!

Thank you

Finger prints on 15 Dec means perhaps you got your report around 15 Feb 2010 or later. This report is valid till one year that means 15 Feb 2011. Chances are LA office might not ask for new report at least till Feb 15 2011. Final words are yours.

You can get report based on existing fingerprints if you have not entered the date till now. I meant, if you enter current date then FBI won't object & process the request. I am not sure how they will react if that form has Dec 15 2009 date.

good luck.
