It's called a "protest vote" and is quite normal mid-term. You shouldn't read too much into it. Look at how UKIP did in the UK last month. It doesn't mean that they could or would be able to govern.
paw339 said:taleodor what you have just said makes no sense. Are you saying that every time there is a provincial election and the federal government party loses then they can't enact any important country-wide issues until they win a provincial election? What happens if the liberals get in at the next federal election but then lose a provincial election to the conservatives?

taleodor said:OMG, mate, do you know what rhetoric is?
I'm saying that there must be accountability, when you make important country-wide decisions. Accountability means that you are basing your support on something. This support for Conservatives clearly doesn't exist any more.
Unfortunately, Conservatives don't seem to have any sense of accountability at all.
paw339 said:The conservatives, like any political party are fully accountable to voters at each election.
C-24 won't be a major issue at the next election especially when compared to issues like the economy and the TFWS imo.
taleodor said:It will be an issue for me to go and volunteer against them. And I sincerely hope, there will be thousands more new volunteers just because of this bill. Though, you are right, there are plenty of other reasons to vote them down.
MWM said:To be honest , I was supporting the cons , but after c-24 bill and some others bills ... I stopped . I ve a ton's of Canadian friends and their families 90 % share with me the same opinion. I prefer that cons win the next election but I don't how without fixing the things made people run to liberals.
Touching something very sensitive to all Canadians ( No matter who there parents are ) made them looks bad , as I think 50 % of the population are used to be an immigrants before .
chakrab said:the bill is much more than just residency requirements and pre-pr time. i think you are getting agitated on the wrong issue. what i said is correct. it depends on the department when things will be put into effect. i am not sure what you are arguing with me about here? you seem to say the same things that i did.

NDP has also did a good job, not bad for a new party 22 seats.
Conservatives have finally learnt a good lesson
