You better believe it: They are voting on the actual bill. It'll be over soon and sent back to the Commons!

They gave the usual Yay/Nay call but two senators insisted on counting the votes, despite the Yays definitely being louder. The votes will be counted at 3:53 pm.

Bill #C6 with amendments is now sent to the HOC. The ball is in their Court, #senCA

So, now that it has passed the 3rd reading at the senate and is going back to the House of Commons, what could be a possible timeline for royal assent? Can is go back to the Senate for any reason?

Of course it can. The HoC can refuse to accept some or all of the amendments.

This is what happened in the Senate today, May 3rd, 2017

THE.
BILL.
PASSED.
THE.
SENATE.

You better believe this!

This is what happened in detail:
- The senate started its sitting at 2pm
- Debate of C-6 started at 3:10 ish
- One Senator spoke against C-6, then one Senator spoke in favour of C-6. No new arguments, same old same old.
- At 3:25, they voted on the third reading of the bill, as usual by saying Yay and Nay. Two Senators requested a roll call vote. 30 Minute break.
- At 3:55, they did the roll call vote
- As already pointed out by the others, 45 in favour, 29 against. The bill passed third reading in the Senate.

Since the bill got amended, it will now go back to the House of Commons. Give me five minutes and I will post an overview on what will happen now.

Actually, what I will do is I will write a nice overview post with the next steps and helpful links where you can follow the upcoming procedure. It'll probably take me more than five minutes, but it'll be worth the wait I promise!

Spoiler Alert: The Order Paper of the House of Commons is not the right place to look. Stay tuned :)
