Has everybody on this thread filed on their own and not through a lawyer? I did through a lawyer and was told I'll hear when my application moves on to stage 2 only...

Maybe they just don't want to deal with explaining about AORs, since not everyone gets them anyway. If they let you know when you move on to stage 2, well, it implies that you got your sponsorship approval!

your lawyer will receive the aor if one is sent as well as the sponsorship approval....you will have to wait to hear from him....

Hello everybody,

A little late, but we've had a bit of a rough time. I recieved the AOR from the Visa office Vienna on October the first. Ten days ago.

We've also send all the forms for the Quebec part, but they returned it to us because we forgot one form. But we immidiately filled out that form and send it back.

In the email from Vienna office they said that it could take around 11 months. I hope it's not going to take so long. But I don't think so.

Congratulations to everybody who's sponsorship has been approved!!!

The waiting continues.
Good luck to everybody!!!

Congratulations!

I received the sponsorship approval email today as well.

We noticed a typographical error (expiration date of a document) on one of the forms after submitting the application. Does anyone know if it would better to provide the visa office with an electronic or hard copy of the corrected form?

Thanks!

Thank you! and Congratulations to you as well! Next step: waiting for AOR from the visa office....

That's great news! You're the first Augustee to get 2nd stage AOR =D I wish you a quick and smooth final stage, you must feel relieved to be this far now.

We received Sponsorship approval on 12th September...now impatiently waiting. My first concern is if they have received our medicals...if ecas is not updated, not sure how I will know.

Same with me, Scottishmaple. My ecas doesn't say anything about medicals, and I feel like most people's do! I'm a little worried about it. I think I'll wait the 2 weeks or so that usually my visa office seems to send out an AOR.... then a couple weeks after that if it's not on ecas then I might try emailing them to see if they'll answer me and see if there's a problem with them not receiving it or if we have to go redo them or something....

I can only access ecas using my husbands (sponsors) details and against my name it only states application received. It is a little early and I know this, but you are right it does feel like a lot of people's ecas state that medicals were received. However, since this is a game of patience, I guess I just have to restrain myself...although what happens if they can't find them?...do I have to wait until after 8 months to contact them? hmmmm to many questions go around my head... ;)

Yes, I know! It's hard to be patient! I don't want to wait until they're ready to issue the visa for them to then contact me telling me my husband needs a new medical! What a waste of time! That could add well over a month of waiting time depending if they take their sweet time looking the medical over again....

My plan is, after I receive notice that the application is actually in Santo Domingo (my husband's visa office), I will wait 2-3 weeks and see if "medical received" comes up on ecas. If it doesn't appear, then I'm going to email them. Worse case, they don't email me back... I figure it can't really hurt... and if the med is missing, then hopefully they'll tell me now what he should do (wait, it's coming from the medical processing centre in Ottawa, or go do another one.) But, hopefully it doesn't come to that and "medical received" appears on ecas soon!

Congrats to everyone that has heard till now...I guess I`ll just have to wait to hear from the lawyer.

AOR receives today!

It is... I received mine too! Hubby had it on his phone this morning when we woke up.
Still can't get into ecas, but I heard it can take a couple of days.

Yeah sponsorship approval too. Now have to make a demand to quebec.
