talk about silence....hubby applying outland...through kingston jamaica. haven't had an update since early jan and that was to inform us that they received app in sept!!! our kids miss their dad so much (not to mention me missing him like crazy and being single parent basically now really sucks!!) ...there's got to be a better system than this

As horrible as this process is, I suppose we can all take comfort in knowing that we're all in the same boat.

Well I emailed my MP today. Here's hoping they're worth my vote.

Well after only a day I received a response from someone at my MP's office. They said Buffalo is waiting on the court documents they requested.

>:(

I responded that the CAIPS notes said the documents were received on Oct 21 and I have tracking info to prove it arrived on Oct 18. They want me to forward a copy to their office (my MP) so that they can then forward to Buffalo.

*sigh*

Aw Kess that is so FRUSTRATING!! I really hope they resolve that for you soon and finally send you the PPR you deserve! I think you are doing the right thing though. You have to keep on top of them and keep pushing the issue. We had to do that with my husband's medical results too.

Keep us posted!

On a side note my hubby is landing next Thursday! He has had his visa for a while now, but it took him a bit to get his stuff together and settled to move here. I am soooo excited! I am spending the week-end getting my place ready for him to move in with me! I will post how it went later next week!

Tty all soon!

AWESOME news Stillsmiling!!! Hope all goes smoothly for you all. You must be over the moon!!!

oops... didn't mean to forget you Frappii - CONGRATULATIONS!!! so happy for you ! Can't wait till it's us with good news to share too!!

Hi Everyone!

Well he landed! Woo Hoo! He came through the Queenston/Lewiston border crossing with a U-haul and towed his car. He was very prepared and had a very detailed list of his belongings and all they did was look it over and stamp his papers, but they did not check his truck. He said that it was pretty easy, they just asked him a few questions like, "have you lived in Canada before?" and got him to confirm his information and he had to give them the address he was moving to in Canada.... and then at the end they did say "Welcome to Canada!" He had to export/import his car and then land so all together it took him about an hour. So now we are combining all our things and starting out our married lives together and it feels WONDERFUL! Still keeping my hopes up for anyone still waiting! I will still be lurking around on here as well! Thanks for all of your support!

And another round of dissapointment. My MP's office forwarded me the response they got from Buffalo that they are "sending out a letter to request additional documents" today.

I'm expecting that they are going to want another state police certificate due to the 3 month validity.

I am so unbelievably frustrated right now.

Today was our "do not disturb" date. Well.... I AM disturbed! Nadda :'(

Well we got the letter from Buffalo today... I would've been happy with just a request for a new state certificate. We've been advised that since there was 3 years summary probation after my husband's dui charge almost 13 years ago that he doesn't qualify for being deemed rehabilitated until Dec 22 2011. So in order for them to continue processing the application, we have to apply for rehabilitation and we have less than 2 months to get everything to Buffalo. The list is insane, state and FBI background checks, proof that all fines etc were paid, conviction certificate, letters from "respected members of the community" to attest to his good character, letter of reference from employer, a letter stating why he wants to come to Canada, $200, and a bunch of other stuff.

*cries*

I'm very sorry to hear that Kess :(

I guess the only thing you can do is attempt to collect what they've asked for. I can't imagine how frustrated you are.

Thanks.. very frustrated and broke. We managed to get fingerprinting done this morning and both FBI and Cali state checks off by courier today.
