first and foremost congrats to those who have already received AOR's and sponsorship approvals, very happy for you all!

secondly, I had a question regarding the UCI/client numbers..

my wife who is sponsoring me (US citizen via outland CPP-O) is a Naturalized Canadian Citizen. (born in the Philippines, came to Canada with her parents when she was young and is now a citizen). on question #7 of her IMM1344, the question stated to list down her client ID number since she was a naturalized citizen. she does not ever recall having a PR card as she was too young and went through the citizenship process through her parents. not completely sure where to find this number, we deducted that it is probably the 7 digit number listed on the front of her citizenship card. (which we also provided a copy of in the application as required on her document checklist)

anyway, we decided to check the status online on the CIC site, and when we were given the option to type in her UCI number, it wouldn't go through because it said that the number must be an 8 digit number. after getting through with one of the call center agents, they said that indeed the UCI number is an 8 digit number, but it will be issued AFTER they start going through our application. they proceeded to give us the whole "only processing applications from July" info that can be found on the website.

my question is this, if it is indeed true that she will be issued a UCI after they open up our application, will that 7 digit number from her citizenship card which was inputted on question 7 of IMM1344 cause any sort of delays or problems? we're crossing our fingers that the agent reviewing our app puts the pieces together and realizes that we inputted something in the wrong place and gives us a break. our application other than this mishap was very organized and well put together. hopefully we're just worrying over nothing. take care!

Yes, I would be concerned that this would cause delays. The reason they ask for a UCI number on the application is so that if you have been through a similar process before, they can look you up in the system immediately. Since you put a number there, they may assume you mis-typed the number (since the number you put is only 7 digits) and this may lead them to believe that you REALLY DO have a UCI and messed up when putting it on the application, which could be a source of confusion. It could delay your application (they may be trying to figure out the UCI number you gave or match it and it may cause them delays to contact you or something about the incident). Your best bet is to send a CSE (Case-Specific Inquiry) and email to the visa office. Give them as much info as possible (name, DOB, etc). Tell them that you have sent in your application and entered a number into the UCI field which was a mistake that that you do not have a UCI number. It will be hard for them to match it up with your package as you don't have an assigned (By CIC) UCI to identify your package yet. However, it's best to at least try. Then maybe if they are confused when they see this number, they can look up your CSE and will see your explanation. It's better than nothing... always best to cover your butt if you can with CIC because they make a lot of careless decisions (sending back packages, etc) for little things that should not be a big deal. I might be overly paranoid, but no one wants their application to be delayed over a silly mistake. Let them know.

hey guys, it has been 16 days and we haven't hear anything...

Relax, you won't hear anything until you get an AOR or Sponsor Approval and that wont be until about 70 days after CIC got your application. Stop watching the time because it'll drive you crazy. Try to find something else to occupy yourself with while you wait.

16 days is like a nano second in CIC time scale. Grab yourself a chair, a book (in-fact a whole library) and settle yourself in for the long haul. Seriously though stage 1 is likely to be somewhere around the 60 day mark give or take 15 days. Stage 2 is when the real pain begins.

Good luck Safou :D

hAHA, i like the" Nano second in CIC. "
yea.. best thing is to get away from the computer, or.. just imagine that news will come in 2 months, so you will not check CIC website :D that's what we have done so far.

hahaahahaha that was funny...i hate waiting though

consider this a crash course in patience.......your journey is just beginning....... :D

I think the CIC makes us wait longer on purpose as another "test". If we can't handle it or don't want to do it, maybe they view it as we aren't as committed to our husbands or wives as we should be haha

Hi guys!, we received our AOR today by e-mail. I initially sent in my application on the 8th and they received it as of the 10th of August : )

Congrats!

It would be great if you could post your info for louie_ann to add to the spreadsheet like this:

We got our AOR! Just for everyone's information, the email was sent last night at 10 pm... seems like they are usually sent at night? Also my courier tracking said that our package was received Aug. 9, but the AOR says Aug. 10.

Cheers guys!

AMAZING! CONGRATS!!! They seem to be moving down the August list pretty fast... July seems to have slowed down.. Unfortunate for July'ers but great for us... they work in crazy ways :S

If it keeps going in that order, I should be getting close!
