lol I filed on the 8th of August as well so maybe another 8 days for me as well... I know it doesn't work like that but I guess we can at least hope...

first and foremost congrats to those who have already received AOR's and sponsorship approvals, very happy for you all!

secondly, I had a question regarding the UCI/client numbers..

my wife who is sponsoring me (US citizen via outland CPP-O) is a Naturalized Canadian Citizen. (born in the Philippines, came to Canada with her parents when she was young and is now a citizen). on question #7 of her IMM1344, the question stated to list down her client ID number since she was a naturalized citizen. she does not ever recall having a PR card as she was too young and went through the citizenship process through her parents. not completely sure where to find this number, we deducted that it is probably the 7 digit number listed on the front of her citizenship card. (which we also provided a copy of in the application as required on her document checklist)

anyway, we decided to check the status online on the CIC site, and when we were given the option to type in her UCI number, it wouldn't go through because it said that the number must be an 8 digit number. after getting through with one of the call center agents, they said that indeed the UCI number is an 8 digit number, but it will be issued AFTER they start going through our application. they proceeded to give us the whole "only processing applications from July" info that can be found on the website.

my question is this, if it is indeed true that she will be issued a UCI after they open up our application, will that 7 digit number from her citizenship card which was inputted on question 7 of IMM1344 cause any sort of delays or problems? we're crossing our fingers that the agent reviewing our app puts the pieces together and realizes that we inputted something in the wrong place and gives us a break. our application other than this mishap was very organized and well put together. hopefully we're just worrying over nothing. take care!

AOR = Acknowledge of Receive. means that CIC starts to touch your package and read them. In 3days to 1 or 2 weeks, after reading your package, they will send you Sponsor Approval, means u can start to WAIT for stage 2.

AOR doesnt mean your package is approved...

Nope only about 50% of the ppl get them, however lately it seems like the percentage is rising.

no - they don't. Some people only hear from CIC the first time when they receive their approval for sponsorship ( that was my case), some get AOR before. So don't worry if you didn't receive anything, that's normal!

Hello again everybody,

As most of you already know my boyfriend (sponsor) and me recieved a mail from the CIC with sponsorship approval.
Well...as planned I will be going to Montreal visiting my boyfriend for 2 months. Now I was wondering. Since they opened our file....is there anything I can expect at the airport in Montreal? Like...sending me to immigration for questioning?

We do count on that eventually I will move there permanently, so I have a huge suitcase with lots of things already in it. I've packed my clothes, (and lots of stuffed animals) in vacuumbags. Can I expect any questions about that?

I did get a document from the cityhall here, that proofs that I'm still listed here in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, so I can proof that I'm only visiting and not planning to stay permanently this time.

Hey Remrov,

With the document from Apeldoorn and the return ticket you should be fine. If questioned, just explain the truth - you are coming to visit, and once you have the PR you will move, so you are preparing. Bring the sponsorship email/letter, so they can see that your application is already half way through, and I really don't think you will have any trouble. Some people have moved during their PR with dogs and full house, and were not given any trouble, so you should be fine!

When I received my AOR, it was Friday night at 10:20 PM...bizarre right.

Hi guys!, we received our AOR today by e-mail. I initially sent in my application on the 8th and they received it as of the 10th of August : )
