I personally have no problem with you both asking questions on here either. it is the same visa office and since there seems to be no one else from Costa Rica, you will probably get more valuable answers on here, rather than your own thread :)

    Has anyone.......????

I wouldn't worry to much about ecas. I know a lot of people who never had there ecas updated at all, or it was updated really late. I know one lady that her ecas went from application received straight to decision made, without ever going to in process. :-\ Its fairly unreliable.

    Has anyone.......????

Hmm, that's a good question. we didn't have an interview so we got an email asking for the passport, than we had to mail it and they mailed it back with the visa in it. And our ecas updated to decision made about 3 days after the passport was returned to us. I would imagine since they kept...

I just read how they do addresses in CR, lol. that kind of made me chuckle. Interesting choice. I guess if they are small cities with places that have been there forever it would be easy to remember for the locals since nothing changes. Learn something knew everyday :P

    Mexican experiences :)

that's great! because you are married you don't have to prove as much as a common-law couple does. so I would include as many pictures of you together and family (if possible) that you have, also include the plane tickets of any trips you took to and from Mexico/Canada. Letters from friends...

    Messy... scenario! Help :(

Rob T.O is correct. if you can get a visitor visa for 6 months and extend it for another 6 months, you will qualify for common law. it doesnt matter how or where you live together, as long as you do for 12 consecutive months.
  17. LeisaP

How do you count the time as common law

Yes, Sweden is right Its the date exactly 12 months from when you moved in. When we went to get our common-law declaration we had to wait until exactly 12 months after we signed our lease together not a day sooner and at this point the notary told us we are now considered common-law as of this...
