AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

While you're probably fine to do that, personally, I would only book refundable tickets despite the added cost for peace of mind. If the time comes that you get your passport back very soon, you can always cancel them and re-book a non-refundable flight (assuming it is still cheaper, which it...

I've heard they request this to make sure your passport is still valid. I'm not sure if this is specific to those who forgot to send in a copy of their passport upfront or not? I remember sending in a copy of my passport with my application.

Here are the two options that worked for most people: Use application number, place of birth, and # of applicants as 2 (include YOURSELF AND Your sponsor in this. If children/dependants, add to it. But minimum should be 2). Another one that worked for some people is Last name, place of birth...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hang in there it should change soon! How long have you been in background check? For us August applicants, it took about 8-9 weeks before we got DM. Usually its only 3-4 weeks but for some reason Ottawa slowed down recently.

***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

That's good! That's the final step before a decision made/approval status! It can take anywhere from 1-8 weeks now to get a decision made depending on your VO and your own background check. Congrats!

***JULY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS***

That's good news!!! From the research I did in past threads, a Decision Made (DM) 99% of the time means you have been approved (I did not see ANY Refusals with a Decision Made to be honest so it probably is 100%). Depending on your Visa Office (VO) and your Visa Status, you will either receive...

You can apply for an eTA online: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp It requires you to upload your passport. Not sure about the passport photos requirement but follow the instructions exactly as they say.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I think he/she means PPR not COPR. The two are easy to mix up. One lets you land and the other is just a request for your passport. It's possible they need to mail it to Vienna because that is where the Visa will be issued not in Ottawa. To the Original Poster, I would just follow the directions...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Honestly I wish I did not do the research on the DM thing...now I ANXIOUSLY wait the mail every single day. I swear I think I checked my mail 5 times today hoping the mailman arrived. It's so annoying I was better off thinking it was another 8 weeks away!

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I'm almost sure at this point that is it. I have not heard yet of one case where a US Citizen was asked for passport photos before COPR.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Sorry that is a good question and I don't have an answer. My guess is the PPR would come via email based on what I've read but I'm not 100% sure of this (it might come via mail too). Maybe someone else can answer your question?

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I'm wondering if this is because of the new eTA requirements? Currently only US Citizens are exempt from an eTA. So I wonder if they are asking for photos to process the visa/eTA or whatever.

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yeah the exemption is really more of a technicality for visa-exempt citizens with a COPR. This is because they technically can just enter on their visa-exempt passport which is all they need to board the plane. Then they can present their COPR and US passport (or any visa-exempt passport)...

AUGUST 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

This is similar to what I will be doing. The only thing I have been advised is when "landing" he should tell the agent nothing about his intentions to leave. He should give them his permanent address and such (also he should make sure to fill out forms B4 and B4A and bring them with him when he...
