I think you need to spend more time reading the Ontario PNP website. Most of the time, the application documents requirements are listed crystal clear. http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/

I'm in the Ontario Master graduate stream, not the same student stream of your province. But my point is, once you got the PNP from any province in any stream, as long as it's a paper based inland application, the processing time and procedure is the same for everyone.

If you don't need the work status any more, why not just switch to B1/B2 visa ? I don't see any issue using B1/B2 traveling between borders.
