If it's been 8 months, I believe your application is considered as incomplete and should be returned to you already.

I think now they're processing the application approximately sent in late Jan and early Feb.

I submitted the application almost at the same time with you, on Feb 15. Let's cross fingers and hope to receive the AOR soon. From my calculations, our AOR should arrive in email within 2-3 weeks. I already had one failed submission before due to missing some documents last year and this time...

So did you finally enter Canada using S1 visa and work permit ? I had a similar situation like you. My S1 visa is good till 2018, but I will change my status from study permit to work permit soon. My guess is I have to apply for a new visa based on my work permit, but not 100% sure.
