    You really have to be super patient in the first 3-4 months. It took them almost 3 months to let me know they received the package.

    You are going to need his permission. You can't just pick up your kids and potentially leave the country forever. This is not an immigration issue.

    It is most likely number 4. I did my medicals almost 6 months before i send in my application. Fingers crossed!

    Question about the Implied status

    I am pretty sure that only counts when you apply for another work/study visa. Not a permanent one. In the best case scenario, you are implied as a visitor, not as a worker.

    Thanks for the replies. I just got my hopes up, because 2 days after the medical request they send me the bill for the landing fee. We'll just have to wait and see i suppose.

    Unless you are talking February 2012, then yes it will be WAY too early. We're talking 6-8 months before the file will have any relevant notes if any.
