They also run your name across several lists of known organisations that are "unwelcomed" in Canada.

I think i am at the stage where the Can Government runs your background check, so not just the criminal investigation based on your police certificates. I have only lived in Holland and Canada, but i have traveled a lot. Maybe that is what slows it down. (But come on, how many people backpack...

It does take a lot longer if you have a military background. I don't have any of that, so i hope it will go a little faster.

According to my MP they are still waiting for my security clearance from the "Third Parties" and they have no timeframe

Turns out i am still stuck in the antecedent research. Vienna has no idea how long it takes because it is done by "third parties". Sigh

The medical takes about 6 weeks to be processed. I did mine on January 22nd and it showed up on march 19th, however, my antecedent research is still not finished so i'm stuck in the unknown.

It depends, they are currently not hiring new staff and are downsizing left and right. It would be a great excuse!

Problem is that my current work visa expires in three weeks. I've had this job for 3 years and i'd hate to lose it two weeks before i become permanent.
