The annoying part is that i've been working in Canada for the last three years and have been a model resident. However, that is actually working against me, since it adds another background check.

Dear Forums, I just got word from my MP that even though all the work has been done, that my background check is still pending. It was a bit surprising since they have been working on my file for a while. Anyone have any experience with this?

Ugh, my MP's office just called Vienna and they told her they are still doing background checks and that i should check back in 3 months if i haven't heard. My Visa expires in 3 weeks... Fuck my life.

I got a Landing Fee request together with a remedical. It took about 4 weeks for them to process the payment.

As a Dutch person you don't need a Visa to enter Canada. You CAN get some trouble at the airport if you are trying to fly on a one way ticket, but you can usually talk your way out of it if needed. In the worst case, they will ask for a show of funds to prove you can afford a ticket back...

You can download a complete package + guide to fill in the forms from the CIC webite. Medicals are mandatory for everyone, Interviews are a possibility if the VO officer has reasons to doubt your relationship. Waiting time is listed on the CIC website as well. Start there.

Well, they received my meds on March 19th (according to CAS) they COULD have finished it off that week and sent it out. But i would have expected an e-mail to notify me of that happening. You never know though.

They do send an AOR, most likely by e-mail, so i hope you put down a correct e-mail address.

It just showed Medicals Received about 6 weeks after the results were sent from the Doctor's Office to Ottawa. *(Dr was also in Ottawa)

That is good news SanBen! I certainly do hope they let me know as well. If i have an e-mail from Vienna to show my boss he'll relax a little!

Mine took 6 weeks to make it from Ottawa to Vienna.
