Re-medical was received today. What is the estimated timeline from now?

Dear experts,

After a long process, i did my re-medical on january 22nd and today they showed up on ECAS. Is there any indication on how long it would take from now on?

I assume it's in Vienna's best interest to finalize the application to help with their statistics.

I heard that the only ask for a re-medical in the very last stage of the process, is this true?

Any info would be useful, (My work visa expires at the end of April and my boss is asking questions!)

each CHC office is different, for example in Islamabad you are almost guaranteed that you will go through a remed since the processing times are just so long. however following the remed, CHC-Islamabad usually finishes it in about 6 months. again each office is different, so you'll have to wait till someone who has gone through a remed in Vienna responds.

A lot of people have, but it has been different for everybody. No one can tell you exactly how long, unfortunately.

The re-medicals are done at the request of visa office. Normally, they request it at the end of the process, but there's no mandate that everything must have been finalized before they request it. For example, background checks might or might not have been finalized when they send you the request.
If I want to make a wild guess, I'd say after two months your background checks should've been concluded. But then again, no one really knows.

We are in a similar boat right now. They have requested an extension for my husband's medicals from London in mid-Feb. They only request the extension when the only outstanding item before they can issue the visa is the medical result. So I'm assuming our background checks have been concluded already. I have searched around the forum and in the few similar cases I found, the applicants received PPR anywhere between 4-8 weeks.

I know it's not the answer you are looking for, but as you can see, no one really knows. I do hope you'll receive it very soon.

I just got my hopes up, because 2 days after the medical request they send me the bill for the landing fee.

We'll just have to wait and see i suppose.

When the VO requests for medicals to be done again it could be for a few reasons:

1. The VO is not expecting to finalize the application before the previous medical exam expires.
2. The VO has grounds to believe there is a medical condition.
3. The VO does not wish to extend the previous medical exam.
4. Medical exam expired long ago and they expect to finalize the application right after receiving the results.

Hopefully your case falls within that last category! When was your previous medical exam performed?

I too am tortured by the remedical process. My husband did his January 31, and two weeks ago yesterday the ecas status check said medicals have been received.
I'm so tired of waiting. This last leg is torture.

It is most likely number 4.

I did my medicals almost 6 months before i send in my application.
