It depends on how fast your doctor works and if they are Emed certified. I THINK the doctors office just send the results in.

I got a letter from Immigration yesterday that i have to pay my Landing Fee ASAP. Must be some good news coming soon!

Looks like we'll get a wave of good news in about 4 weeks when all those medicals are redone!

Europe, check the website of CIC for a doctors office that can do an immigration medical. They are becoming limited so you might have to travel a bit.

Vienna just confirmed that my medicals HAVE expired and need to redo them. Have an appointment for tomorrow, hopefully this is the last stretch.

Don't send them stuff unless you hear from them. It's hard to tell how long it takes before they reply back, it all depends on the agent working on your file.

Hi Europe I applied June 2012, but my medical was done December 2011. I got married after my application, so i got a new file number. I contacted Vienna about this new file number, because on ECAS it didn't mention "Medicals Received" anymore. They then replied that my Medicals were still valid...

Vienna just send me a request to do a medical, which is weird because in an e-mail i got last week they said they were still valid until June 2013.

I have a feeling that "doing background checks" is a term for "Don't bother us, we're working on it" that CIC uses. It's a vague enough term to mean anything.
