CIC's eligibility decision for outland applicants - when? Thinking about OHIP.

Hello all, I am eligible as a sponsor and my wife is now with me here in Canada on a 6-month visitors permit, a common situation for many couples I think. Our applications were received at the end of July, I received sponsorship approval mid-September, and we arrived here just two weeks ago. We...

Received UIC, application was received - a question.

lellen thanks for the quick reply! Any idea if the turnaround time gets reset to zero and I have to wait another 6-8 weeks, or if its sooner the second time around? The additional info they requested was really simple so I hope the approval process is mostly complete and they get back to me soon.

Thanks for the help Rob, I will go that route. The translating house is also telling me the same thing and it seems logical. Cheers to everyone for the input.

Sponsoring Japanese spouse - certified copies

The online step by step guide is in the link in my OP. Sounds more and more like only non-English documents need to be notarized. ROB - I am assuming yours were just photocopies? And it was okay? If thats the case then I will just do the same!

Sponsoring Japanese spouse - certified copies

Hi all, thanks for the replies. Yes, the guide in PDF format does make mention of photocopies being fine as well as certified copies. However the online step by step guide simply says 'certified true copies' and doesn't specifically say whether this applies to copies for translation material or...

Sponsoring Japanese spouse - certified copies

Thanks for the reply Rob. :D Not to be a doubting Thomas but can you elaborate slightly on how you know this for sure? Did you send your application in using just regular photocopies and it was accepted? Or did you read a different set of guidelines on the CIC website? Would really just like to...

Sponsoring spouse from Japan - question about the 9 application photos

Hello again I could have sworn I asked this somewhere before but I cannot find the topic. Maybe I didnt. If I am repeating myself here, I apologize. In the Japan-specific guide 3913 it says 9 photos for each of you and your family members accompanying and non-accompanying. We have no...

Question on Option C printout: CDNs who resided abroad/didnt file for a while

Thanks for the response. Yes a letter of employment for the period you are out of Canada would help establish your non-residency and therefore alleviate you of the need to file and/or submit Option-C. Update to this thread: Found the answer myself, and there doesnt seem to be anyone else here...
