Greetings.
I am a Canadian born citizen sponsoring my Japanese wife.
She will go to either Kobe or Tokyo to take her panel physician medical exam.
We have had varying info from both the doctors offices, the BFSGlobal office in Tokyo (who are of little help) and the embassy in Tokoy, who directed me to Manilla, (who dont pick up the phone).
My understanding is that the result of the exam will be sent directly to the CIC office - this is clear.
I also understand the doctors office should in theory be giving us something, a kind of receipt or proof with a barcode on it, and this constitutes the required form for the application package.
I also understand some doctors offices have the e-medical system where the results are sent electronically. Some offices do not operate on this system and paper results are mailed to the CIC.
Wherever we go, whether that clinic has the e-medical system or not - will we receive the same standard barcode form?
Does this form have a name or serial number so we can be sure to ask for it specifically and get it?
I have been informed that in the e-medical system case, we receive an 'IME' number - is this separate from or the same as the barcode form?
Thanks very much for any information here.
Best regards,
J
