Hello again

I could have sworn I asked this somewhere before but I cannot find the topic. Maybe I didnt.
If I am repeating myself here, I apologize.

In the Japan-specific guide 3913 it says 9 photos for each of you and your family members accompanying and non-accompanying.
We have no children/dependents. Our immediate 'family' is just myself and my wife at the moment.

How can I interpret this?
Should my wife supply 9 professionally-taken 'immigration' photos of herself, as per appendix B, and thats it?
Do we need photos of her and her entire family?? i.e. her siblings, parents, cousins..

Also, I notice many topics stating there are photos required for the panel physician medical.
Are these separate or included in the 9? I assume separate.
Are there special requirements for these photos?
We have called a few places to make a reservation for a physical examination but no one has told us anything about bringing photos.

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

J

1.) ONLY your wife (if you are only sponsoring her for your application package, as you said) No need for family members, your wife's sister's etc.

2.) I had the same issue here in Korea, some conflicting / overlapping info as there are quite a few nations crammed together in that appendix. If you contacted the panel physician and they did NOT say anything about bringing photos, then don't. They'll take a photo there for you and attach it to your e-medical (if you are doing your medical to send along with your package - which is a better idea than doing it later on after requested) They took a photo of my wife there, attached it to the e-medical form (automatically links to CIC, and then you'll attach that sheet with your application package)

*note, immigration photo sizes are slightly different than passport photos, so bring along a ruler to the photo studio to make sure it's all legit with sizing (they are slightly bigger, and the top of head to chin measurements are a little different. Make sure to re-read the Japanese specific requirements about the BACK of the photo. I know for Korea, you didn't have to write / stamp anything on the back, but other countries require a signature / address of photo studio / birthdate etc. If it doesn't mention anything about the back for your Japanese-specific photos, then just throw them in an envelope and attach them with your application package!

Thanks for the information.

So its just my wife.
And I will contact the panel physician and see if they take photos or not.
If they dont I will have some extras taken at the studio as per the Immigration requirement specs.

Thanks again
