    April 2013 Applications

If you look at the processing time for CEC PR applications, you'll see it takes about 12 months for average completion. Its only been 5 months since April so y'all should chill out a lil bit. You still have a ways to go.

Do I need canadian police clearance too.

Police clearance is not a requirement at the time of application, but it is recommended so the PR process isn't slowed down later on if it is requested. You are to submit original copies of PCC in every country you've lived in for over 6 months. So if you've lived in Canada for over 6 months...

CEC PR Application - Please Advise about mentioning Salary Details

You should mention how much you got paid during your CEC qualifying period. The pay listed in your reference letter should match your most recent Notice of assessment. You could also ask your employer to state the pay change for May 2013 in the letter as well and the date of the increase. Cheers

    Question about Restoration of Status?

I recently restored my status. The previous post is correct, you can remain in the country, but you cannot work or go to school until they respond to you. The time frame is an initial 28 days, assuming you applied for your work permit online if not 55 days, plus up to an additional 16 weeks for...

Do I need to Contact CIC?

Hey guys, - I had applied for PR under CEC back in April, but my work permit had expired, and had only just applied for renewal at the time, meaning I was under restoration of status period. I have since moved to the states to wait out my application process. Today I received a letter stating...

PROCESSING TIME FOR RESTORATION OF STATUS/WORK PERMIT

Hey guys, I've followed this post for a bit. I applied for restoration of my status on March 22nd. My work permit expired, but I've been waiting for my CEC app to be completed. I've been stressed out cus I've been out of status, but I just got my approval letter today so my status has been...

Problems with delivery of application to CIO

The previous post is right. If you had scrolled all the way down, you would have noticed that courier mail and regular mail are sent to different addresses. Never the less, if you sent it by expresspost, the envelope would have a portion for a return address, which you probably filled out. Your...

    Please Guide....

Your job duties is what counts, not your job title. Your job has to be a skilled job in category O,A,B to be eligible. You can check http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=* to see if your job qualifies. You should read up on NOC code to differentiate skilled from...

Quick question about work experience and category

I don't believe it will be an issue. As long as you provided a copy of your PGWP, the only experience that would count would be experience gained under the PGWP validity. They should be able to differentiate with dates.

Refused due to wrong NOC code

Yea it takes a lil bit. Depends really, it could take 13 months, it could take 9 months, it just varies. My suggestion would be to round up all your docs, with the proper NOC code this time, and reapply. Now, if you are concerned about your work permit expiring before the PR process is done...

    April 2013 applications- AOR RECEIVED

The application process is quite long. According to the CIC website, its approx 13 months. Once your file gets reviewed, CIC will contact you and you will be given further instructions. You really don't have anything to worry about until CIC contacts you with instructions. If you applied in...

    Working while waiting for PGWP

Based on a few rejections on this forum, eligible work for CEC starts after you receive your PGWP and not before. Eligibility day 1 is the day your PGWP is approved. Work done on off campus work permit will not count towards eligibility. There have been at least 4 people who have been rejected...

    PGWP question,

You don't need experience in your feild of study, you just need 1 year FT, or the equivalent PT, worth of experience in a skilled job, NOC O, A, B. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

    cec

You can apply for CEC once you complete 1 year working in a skilled job, just make sure the NOC code used in your application matches the one in the CIC website, shouldn't be word for word though. Also, remember to give an extra week, or so, after calculating the year just in case. Your one year...

WP expiry and impact on PR application

My advice would be not to work at all once your work permit expires. If you do and CIC finds out, your CEC will surely be denied. However, if you apply for an extension of your WP before it expires, even though you know it would be denied, you can keep working till you get a response from them...

Job title should be same as NOC skill code?

Hi AK, The job title does not have to match the NOC job title word for word, but it does have to be similar, as different companies use different titles. If the NOC title says systems analyst, your job letter cannot say Event coordinator, instead maybe Computer Analyst, if you can catch my...

Study Permit first, PR under CEC later

I don't believe it will be a problem at all. A friend of mine applied for a study permit and completed a 1 year masters program while waiting for his PR under CEC. You'll have to show proof of funds and all that, but it should not affect your PR application at all. Remember, higher education is...
