    Husband used an FBI channeler.......

I sent my application inland so my situation may be slightly different than yours but we did send our application before we sent in the FBI results, as per advice from various sources. We just made sure that we included a note that said the FBI clearance has been ordered and that we would mail...

I feel like to sue the Canadian Embassy and Government...

Lol it's interesting how Dani has long since abandoned this thread and it's totally morphed into something else. :P

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Lol that's intense. In BC until last year, the transit system had no means of forcing fare evaders to pay. It wasn't until last year that they finally started sending cases to collections. I don't know if they put red flags on people's files though...........

    Implied Status

@darwinwap From what I understood, if you already have a work permit and you apply for another one as an extension to the one you already have, you get implied status. Similarly if you are seeking to extend your visitor visa. But can you really get implied status by applying for an OWP while...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

11 months!!! ;D I know CIC says 8 months for stage 2, but from reading the timelines on this thread, it seems like it's actually only 5 months now. Beware though, the waiting time might jump up. The total time (stage 1 + stage 2) was 19 months last year when I applied. :'(

    Implied Status

Hello Happywife, I don't know about the whole 30-day thing since I never looked into visitor visas, but I know that applying for spousal sponsorship does NOT give you implied status. I'm not sure how strictly CBSA enforces deportation on visitor visas but if they were to do so, you would have...

    immigration news article...

It's certainly not fair but I really can't fault Canada for that. After all, a government's duty is towards the welfare of the country and its inhabitants; an immigrant coming in as an investor will bring jobs and money into the country (hopefully). On the other hand, they try to screen out...

[INLAND] letter stating that I am eligible as a sponsor. What does this mean?

[swearing like a sailor] I can't believe I missed that detail.... I have no idea what we were thinking using that email address in the first place! Oh well... I guess I just gotta be grateful I got at least 1 letter :P

Need to change email address ASAP!!

I don't think you can change the email address through ecas. We had to call CIC to get it changed. So I guess just do what Sweden suggested and maybe try logging in with your receipt number every once in a while. My husband and I made the same 'brain dead move' and I didn't realize it until...

[INLAND] letter stating that I am eligible as a sponsor. What does this mean?

By the way, if they need my husband to redo his medicals (which they probably do) would this be mentioned in the AIP letter or would there be a separate mail? If separate, do they tend to send this by email, or snail mail? Just wondering if we'd missed that too lol

    GUIDES TO GCMS

Oh nvm my bad; I've been posting on Inland threads so much I forgot that I wasn't on one :P

[INLAND] letter stating that I am eligible as a sponsor. What does this mean?

Actually, I just realized that the email address my husband had registered with was an address attached to our account with our Internet Provider. We had since moved and we no longer have that account so we might have missed emails sent to that address. I called CIC and got that updated and...

    How strong is our application?

Lol smooooth, telling her that her home country sucks. But yeah, I think that's great, if the IO sees that. More proof would seal the deal, but I think that's pretty good. Especially since she studied in the US and then went back to Vietnam.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

I called CIC today and the agent there told me that nothing has been mailed to me yet! Anyone else had this happen to them?

[INLAND] letter stating that I am eligible as a sponsor. What does this mean?

I called CIC this morning and the agent informed us that no letter has been mailed. She said she would message the IO (or add a note or something; I don't remember now) to mail the letter ASAP, but I'm not really sure if that's a good thing. It might just annoy the IO :(

Timeline for spousal sponsorship in CIC Edmonton

@ SEPTSIXHUIT Thank you for your reply; it makes me feel slightly better, but my heart will still probably be pumping at 10x its normal speed until I get a letter confirming in the positive. Sorry that you have to wait so long for your interview! I was browsing through the canadavisa.com site...

[INLAND] letter stating that I am eligible as a sponsor. What does this mean?

Lol I tried, actually. But there are so many people posting there, things tend to get lost and buried.
