Need to change email address ASAP!!

Brain dead move... I cancelled the internet provider for the email addresses (sponsor and applicant) on my PR application I just submitted! :-[
Obviously want to change the contact email address(es) ASAP. I'm obviously not going to get any AOR with file number or client ID or whatever by email. I noticed I can log in using my receipt number. How long does it take before my application would show up in "check application status" section of the CIC website?

For outland applications, it usually takes until close to when you would be getting your sponsorship approval.

i tired "receipt number" .. it never worked for me ..

Most of the time it won't work until you get an AOR or approval - which you won't know because you don't have the address anymore.
Your only option might be to just wait... and once a lot of people who filed at the same time as you get the approval try calling CIC. If you have been approved, they can tell you on the phone, and they can also give you the UCI + file number. With that, you can then log in, and update the email address, so you will get the correspondence for stage 2. Most of the time they don't require any new documents for stage 1, so it should be OK.

I don't think you can change the email address through ecas. We had to call CIC to get it changed. So I guess just do what Sweden suggested and maybe try logging in with your receipt number every once in a while.

My husband and I made the same 'brain dead move' and I didn't realize it until today. This has actually caused quite a bit of anxiety (long story), so moral of the story...... get that email changed before you're expecting AIP!!! Also make sure your phone numbers are up to date as the IO will sometimes call.

that's correct, you can only update the physical address, but it redirects you to a "case-specific enquiry" even for a physical address, but then they will be able to find your file because it will be in the system... so to update the email address, either call and try that way ( but you need to wait until you're in the system), or send a case-specific enquiry to change your email address once you have the first part done.
