I think it's a background process (so the credentials are some generic "well known" name).
By background process do you mean it's a process that runs automatically?

Silly question maybe.... :-[

Do the notes say where your file is? Might be worth the 5 bucks just for that.

Thanks for any reply

They are free only if you request your own files and you currently live in Canada. Otherwise, it's 5bucks.

Oh nvm my bad; I've been posting on Inland threads so much I forgot that I wasn't on one :P

Ok, I would be ordering on behalf of my husband(applicant), so not my own file. Correct?

I already know about the consent form, is there anything else I need to know?

Thank you by the way :D

No worries! Not much really, just the two forms, the receipt for 5 bucks (which you can pay for online), and up to 30 days later you'll receive them. 30 days is if you order electronic notes, to be delivered by email.

Best wishes :)

Exactly. On huge databases like the one that CIC must maintain you have to do things in the background because the database is never "quiet". So the DB programmers write script programs that run periodically and perform operations on the database - things like moving information from the real data base to e-CAS, or from other databases into e-CAS.

Imagine how much work it was to pull hundreds of thousands of applications out of the database when they terminated all those old skilled worker apps last year.

Quick question:

Will be ordering notes soon. I would like to know the following:

1) I sponsored my wife and it seems like IMM 5563 form has changed and I don't see the option "status of an application" anymore, do I choose "Immigration file: Permanent residence from Electronic file?

2) Does it matter how many times I order the GCMS notes? Does this effect my file? The Last time I ordered the notes was in December 2012.

yes it will say that it was in missisauga or ottawa, then it will b "in transit" for like 6 weeks; then it will b in registry at ur VO; from there it will go to some officer's desk (u could see the officer's code) then maybe to another officer desk and so on until it's done
i would wait at least 2 months after ur sponsor approval
but to know if ur file is in cairo u could also try emailing them first

i think the best what u can see there at the beginning is the fact that they have all ur correct contact info, address etc; all other info is correct; plus u'll finally see the applicant's uci, paperfile number etc; plus any notes missisauga put (for me they said sponsor residing outside canada; intentions of return to be checked by vo)

1. yes
2. no it doesn't matter and no it doesn't affect

Hello computergeek i was hoping you could help me understand this comment you made

They always redact security, though on my own I could tell when security checks passed because there were other things around those records that also were done (and while they redact the information, the printout is still chronological).

- can you give me some advice as to how i can maybe tell from other records if they have looked at security
- also what is the reason they edit the notes to remove the security info?
