Hi computergeek: Who's name should be written in the electronic RECEIPT that I have printed after paying $5 online ??? I am confuded b/c it asked Name, Client's Date of Birth, Client's ID and I understand the address & telephone number have to be in Canada and that is mine. PLEASE tell me, who's the client ?? Myself (the requester) or the sponsored person/the principal applicant (my wife) ???? Thank you again and again.

They only use that information if they refund the fee.

To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual or corporation currently present in Canada.

If it's an OR, doesn't that mean that ONE of the above conditions have to be satisfied? If you are a canadian citizen can u not request the notes even if u r not in canada? bcoz it doesn't say that u have to be a citizen AND residing in Canada.

What do you think, ComputerGeek? This has been confusing me for a while now...

i am new to this form...just registered today!!!

n also learned about the GCMS (never knew this existed )

so...i am a canadian citizen n hv sponsored my parents. can i use GCMS to know what is going on with their file?? bdw...the case is in second stage of processing (ie it has been approved by the CPC-M and has been sent to local visa office for assessment of the sponsored persons for PR). i m not sure if the GCMS notes will tell me wht local visa office is doing on the file now?

My understanding is that you must be one of (citizen, pr, individual, or corporation) AND (currently present in Canada).

You would need your parents permission to obtain that information, but yes, you can request it and it will show you the status of the application in the visa office abroad.

Quick question for the forum gang,

Will be ordering notes soon. I would like to know the following;

1) For spousal sponsership (wife), do i need her consent/ signature.

2) What is the difference between physical/ electronic file request. (Which would i need to order for my wife)

If your wife is not in Canada, you need to obtain her consent (form is right on the same website).

You will want the electronic file request. They will email it to you. Physical can take longer, and it is mailed out.

Hello frnds!!! i m going to order GCMS notes for the first time. i have my form and the consent forms as well.
so my question is: do i have to write the story in the email (tht i want the GCMS notes n y i want them etc etc) OR submitting the forms itself means GCMS notes n no need of story??/

30 days. Sometimes they send it faster. If they need more than 30 days, they will inform you.

I suspect this means "social assistance". Someone collecting social assistance (different than disability or retirement) is not eligible to sponsor. "Welfare" is a colloquial term for it.
