British passport is changable to Canadian one??????

Once someone has become a Canadian Citizen they can have two passports, one UK, the other Canadian. Dual citizenship is allowed. Driving licenses can be exchanged, but I do not believe that passports get swapped. I think that you would have to relinquish citizenship of the UK (or let your UK...

Cyber Psychos malicious mail to embassy

I guess the embassy would look into any items that were provided to them (malicious or not). So it may slow things down. Sadly, this is one of many problems that can happen when you have information on Facebook or other social networking sites. On the web there is no privacy.

    The Processing times just doubled!!!!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp I think you will see the reason if you look at the note on the web page: "If you live inside Canada and if it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied, please contact the Call Centre." It means they want less calls.

    Qantas A380 Survived a Crash Today !!

It is not good that an engine explodes, but it is a pretty amazing testament to the overall integrity of that plane. The folks at Rolls Royce will be working hard on that trent 900 engine to discover the problem, engine shut downs are common, but an un-contained engine failure is not usual.

Tax question from a Visitor married to a Canadian

Thanks for the info', I finally finished reading a big section of the CRA web site. I think the key point here is that the UK and Canada have a tax treaty, so I cannot "in theory" be taxed twice. I doubt that I need a lawyer, I will just send the information to CRA, it will cost less. As I said...

    Confused about extension application

How long do you intend to stay in Canada, six months? I would call CIC to ask about the need to go to the border - be aware the help line staff are not perfect, many people have had conflicting information from them in the past. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it...
