When can I come back to Canada?

I understood that you can visit Canada as often as the POE officers will let you in - I certainly have (I am from the UK). Obviously you must meet all the entry criteria AND LEAVE when you are supposed to.

Visiting only & wanting to marry my GF in Canada...is this possible?

In Ontario and Quebec (I guess it is the same elsewhere) before you get married you both need to: 1. Show a birth certificate 2. Show your proof of divorce, if you are divorced (this has to be certified/approved by a lawyer in Ontario) 3. Buy a marriage licence Contact city hall for details...

Visiting only & wanting to marry my GF in Canada...is this possible?

She cannot be married to two people at the same time. She needs to divorce her husband and then she would be able to marry another person.

When sponsored by your spouse the following applies: The signed agreement stands for three years (no matter what happens) - the sponsor agrees to provide for their spouse. The sponsor has to show that they are not bankrupt or getting social assistance. There are no financial requirements that...

help me what can i do?

I am no expert... but I would offer the following comments. You need to get some help, one thing that you must know is that abuse is not acceptable under any circumstance. Try not to feel stupid about believing in someone, there are nasty people out there. At this time you need to believe in...

    Electric appliances

I have a friend in Canada who has 220 volts in his workshop. Some clothes dryers are also 220V. I believe that 220 V is also found in commercial buildings. Canada is 60Hz. To be honest, small appliances are quite inexpensive in Canada. Large appliances are not worth shipping (not from the UK...

    More Questions!

I am thinking of doing the same in Ottawa. Was the Canadian medical less expensive than in Europe or did you do it that way because the Canadian Doctor was familiar with the immigration requirements? Am I right in assuming that medicals are valid for 12 months? Do I need to (or is it helpful to)...

    Driving License for Toronto, Ontario

Thanks for the info' I have been riding motorcycles and driving a cars for over 35 years. I should be ok on retaking a test. I tried calling the driver centre for an official statement, but they are really busy sorting their strike backlog :'( I will try again later this week. Maybe a visit...

    Driving License for Toronto, Ontario

Thanks PMM, I thought that was the case. The pain is that my UK licence has a motorcycle permit on it. That motorcycle part does not transfer when you exchange the licence in Ontario. I suppose I could always take the full test in Ontario and keep my UK licence, or is that illegal here?

    Driving License for Toronto, Ontario

Empenguin I know the post is old but does this still hold true? If I have an international licence, will they accept it for exchange and leave me with my normal UK licence in Ontario?

Family class PR eventually, but a few questions first.

I just tried using the visitor self assessment tool (for checking if I can extend my stay) at on the cic site - www dot cic dot gc dot ca/english/e-services/extend-visit.asp Sorry I cannot post links. Even though my visitor record is dated for march 2010, certainly more than 30 days away, the...

Family class PR eventually, but a few questions first.

If I submit an extension request on the first day of February, we could get married in late March / early April 2010 (about 80 days from extension application). Is there much likelihood that I would get a reply, positive or negative before the current 88 days? Has that processing timeframe been...

    My Situation

I am new here but I can offer my limited experience. Getting married is likely to be the best option, that is what I have chosen - my fiancée is Canadian, I am a Brit. An important thing to note - Keep records of everything (phone bills, emails, skype chats, MSN messenger, pictures, letters...

Family class PR eventually, but a few questions first.

Thanks for the quick reply, of course I have some more questions. After reading your statement about the visitor record it now makes sense to me. As I don't need a visa to travel to Canada I assume the visitor record is a reiteration of the normal rules, except the duration can be varied by...

Family class PR eventually, but a few questions first.

Background information: I am a Brit, my fiancee is Canadian.
