Just a heads up, it's stated in the submission requirements that you are required to provide police certificates for anywhere you've lived longer than 6 months while over the age of 18. The good news is that you can get a police certificate from the UK pretty quickly (matter of days)...

Since your application is now over the 1 year mark, I suggest that you contact your local MP's office. They will be able to assist you on your file. You could also try contacting the federal minister of immigration's office directly as well. Find your local MP...

Congrats! Do you know when/if they updated your background check status to say that it was in progress?

A June applicant that I know received email correspondence from the minister of immigration office stating that his background check has started, even though it shows on his GCKEY that it hasn't. Hope this helps!

They 100% gave you incorrect information, that's a shame and such a waste of your time. It clearly states on OHIP's website that if you are deemed to qualify to apply for PR (in other words, AIP), you can apply for OHIP with a 3 month waiting period...

Heads up - you'll need to get a decision made on ECAS on the applicant's side first before you get the interview letter. There are still a few more behind the scenes steps like completing your background check, fingerprints (if needed), etc... before they issue a decision made.

No changes to ECAS since the February 20th update to say that they started processing the application.

Just logged into GCKEY and saw that our application showed that the Background Check has started (finally!). We are one of the apps that received SA from the Montreal Innovation Hub.

I sent another email after about a week asking if they were going to address any of the issues being experienced at the Montreal Innovation Hub that I noted in my previous email. Someone from his office replied a few hours later, it was full of canned responses, but at least I know it got some...

There hasn't been any movement for anyone in Montreal. When I spoke with my local MP, they suggested to contact the Minister of Immigration, Ahmed Hassen. They are the only ones with any power at this point to re-distribute, or allocate additional resources to files. I have contacted them...

There are other forums on canadavisa.com that might be able to help you better. We are all doing the spousal sponsorship route and likely have very limited advice to give on any other means to immigrate to Canada.

Lucky. Most of us still have "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." Do you know which office sent out the Sponsor Approval? It should say at the bottom of the PDF.

Congrats on the DM! Check your background check status closely. For most of us it went from Not Applicable to just stating that your application is in process and they will contact you when they start processing your background check.

Not yet. Still shows eligibility review in progress on GCKEY and application is in progress on ECAS
