generally they say 3 months before it expires, as soon as you submit a work permit application and they acknowledge receipt you switch to implied status which means if your current work permit expires you're covered until they make a decision on your application.

you're a permanent resident officially with the eCOPR. the PR card is for travel but it's the eCOPR that has the date you were deemed a permaneent resident.

I'm wondering if there will suddenly be a burst of eCOPRs at some point in the same way there seemed to be a flurry of PR approvals in the last quarter of last year from Calgary? It seems it's not just Calgary backed up from Sept/Oct Montreal VO also seems to be in the same position.

so spoke to my lawyer, they said to a) submit the information to get the eCOPR process rolling and b) email IRCC to let them know of the mistake they made ( I confirmed the info I sent them originally is correct so it's clearly a manual entry issue on their side for the portal) So done...

So seems Calgary fixed my issue with access to the PR Portal- however, they have fucked up my wives given names (basically copies given and surnames). Jesus fucking christ....

my impression is that the system isn't setup to resolve anything quickly with the immigration system. It is what it is- i just need to be patient (not my strongest ability)
