you're wrong for sure, and these systems work to avoid double taxation. But if you are not being taxed in the UAE on your income- Canada or the U.S would for sure.

You pay federal and provincial, the CPP you pay up to a set amount a year, EI you also pay. CPP/EI Premiums are normally done through your employer so not sure- but Federal/Provincial taxes you would pay. If you are coming to live in Canada - why would you expect that you wouldn't have to pay...

i had 2 or so months between PAL and getting approval. It's not uncommon for months to go by with no status update. They are likely doing background/security checks.

yeah, they likely generate the eCOPR template and number- but details need to be filled in and the document needs to be signed by a IRCC agent

A few mins after the "eCOPR is ready to download" email. Probably someone forgot to hit send on the follow up message for you, I've seen that you aren't the first it's happened to.

yeah, got that one too- the longer one above was the "message" I got from an IRCC case officer. It's all fluff really. Roll on the PR cards! It's good to see they are moving files from Calgary to other VO's to speed up the eCOPR process. Mine's remained in Calgary

status are very unreliable in most of IRCCs stuff, when I was having some issues with portal credentials and had to call IRCC the other week their automated service was effectively reading off 3 month old data despite me being approved and having portal emails.

yup, from what I've read it tends to stay there even once you've got the card

it was roughly a month for me and my wife.
