Wow that was fast, I am waiting for restoration +visitor visa and I sent my application in January and still nothing yet. I know I read somewhere on the thread that someone got their restoration +work permit approved and he was given a year.

No i did not , I had applied to extend my PGWP (didn't realise you could not do that) and that was rejected so I had to restore my status as a visitor. So hence I am waiting and hoping to have it approved in the next month or so .

I am not sure what a CAQ is but make sure any and all information you send to CIC is consistent. You can get a study permit with Concordia and then change the institution you are going to once you get the study permit but dont send conflicting information to CIC, it does not look good on your part.

At the moment restoration is taking 4 - 5 months to be processed. Early January applicants have started to receive their restorations applications decisons just this month.

An early January applicant in this thread said she received her application back this month so I assume for February you guys should have your prob as of next month or so on.

I wish I could give you some insight into your situation , If you are able to , go through the foreign worker forum and see if you can find some of the senior members that give a lot of advice and ask them directly. Hope this helps

If you are able to leave and go work somewhere else or continue studies then I think you should do so as with Ontario it will definitely take a while for the applications.

I agree with Wilso. I think the least Ontario could do is send out an update so we know their processing times have been affected and we know what to look forward to from here on out. If they did that, they would also receive less emails from people asking about their applications. For sure...

You can also change your status to being a student if you want but again you need the letter of acceptance from the school to apply and be able to show proof that you / parents can support you during your studies. Keep in mind study permits also take a while to be processed so you need to keep...

I think one of your options would be to change your status then if your work permit is about to expire, change your status to become a visitor if you are able to. The application to change your status to visitor takes about 4 - 6 months to process so it gives you sometime to figure yourself out...

I think you should be able to but you would be sending it to an office outside of Canada in New York, where you maybe requested to come for an interview. I am not sure the exact form you would fill in but I am yet to cross that bridge when I get my restoration of status.

When it comes to restoration of status it does not depend on your situation, it depends on when you sent in your application and it will take months. so just have to wait it out. If you sent your application march you should expect a response 4 -5 months from now.
