When he crosses to "visit" they will likely issue him a visitor record which can be for any amount of time up to one year, at the discretion of the IO. If he has not recieved his PR before the end of the "visit" period, you can submit a request for an extension. They recommend about 30 days...

    Processing time question.

I am assuming you are applying outland? If so, all application forms, your wife's sponsorship forms and your applicant forms, plus all other documentation (e.g. proof of relationship, medical, police clearances and everything else on the checklist) needs to be submitted first to CPC-Mississauga...

Sponsoring my husband coming to Canada

Hi Sarah, Please excuse my lack of a brain :D. First, I can't count. Second the number of photos for US (my husbands Region Specific guide) and yours for the UK differ. (so I can't read either). You are right, we were required to provide 4 for the application and 5 for the DMP which equals...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

We haven't actually had the pleasure yet 8) but it is my understanding from reading previous posts, that yes you get it on the same day if you go to Buffalo and about 3 weeks if you go the mail route. I stand to be corrected by others who have done one or other successfully already :)...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

You beat me to it Minna ;D. That is my understanding as well. In my case, my husband will be landing through Buffalo, so that it makes sense for him to personally pick it up rather than adding the mailing time to send the passport to the VO and wait for the Visa and Passport to be sent back...

Sponsoring my husband coming to Canada

This is the question I was trying to answer. Sorry for confusing you. There are two sets of photos required for the application process. The guide states 5 recent photos for the medical part of the process. These would be the 3 that the DMP your husband is seeing has asked for plus 2 for the...

Do I have to fill out the IMM 5540 Sponsor Questionnaire?

@ oneworded, you also may want to do a search on this forum, I know there is a thread for "inlanders"/"inland applications. They also might help clear up some more confusion as you go along. It seems to me most of us are outland and we sometimes assume everyone else is (and we are not that...

Canadian citizen hubby working freelance, does he qualify as a sponsor?

If you are being sponsored to move to Quebec, there is an additional process that takes place. Some of our Quebec residents will be more familiar with the process, but from what I understand, once your partner would be approved to sponser, then Quebec would require an additional approval...

Do I have to fill out the IMM 5540 Sponsor Questionnaire?

Thanks for the catch on the inland vs. outland forms Canadianwoman. I realized after I posted that I must have had my "outland" blinders on and didn't even think the package of forms could be "inland" forms. And was only able to get back now, intending to correct myself. Sorry for any...

Regarding the photos. The guide states 5 recent photos are required for the medical. An additional 4 are required for CIC purposes and details of the requirements for these can be found in the Region Specific Guide for the UK. DMP's seem to differ on how many photos they require, some seem to...

Fast-tracking applications when there are children involved?

thaihubbie, your case is no more compelling than any of the cases here. At least your family is together. Many of us here have to endure separation from our spouse and in alot of cases the children also endure separation from one parent. We are all "suffering" and the stress for all of us is...
