Hi,

Some help would be much appreciated. I am a British citizen and have recently married my Canadian wife whilst I was in Canada on a visitor visa. She is going to sponsor me and we are trying to fill out all the forms that are necessary before I have to return to the U.K in 2 weeks as my visa is about to run out. We have spoken to several people and researched online and we have came to the conclusion that if I were to take all the forms and information back to the U.K and send the sponsorship forms and PR application off to the Canadian High Commision/Emabassy in the U.K the process will be quicker. Is this correct?

I am assuming you are applying outland? If so, all application forms, your wife's sponsorship forms and your applicant forms, plus all other documentation (e.g. proof of relationship, medical, police clearances and everything else on the checklist) needs to be submitted first to CPC-Mississauga for sponsorship assessment. Once your wife is approved as sponsor, then the application package will be forwarded to your visa office, which in your case is the U.K. Mississauga is currently taking around 42 days to process the sponsorship portion and the following link shows the U.K. processing times http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp
Most people that have processed through London recently seem to average 2-3 months.

You can also apply to have your visitor's visa extended to wait out the process here.

No. You can't send your forms to the Canadian High Commission in London yourself. You send them to Mississauga (in Canada); they check the forms and approve (or not) the sponsor and then they send the forms to London.
