Change in health conditions, notify CIC?

Yes, let's hope for great test results. I agree you probably won't have to redo medical. But since one's health is very important, make sure you take care of yourself and can land and get back to UK, particularly if you are coming to a province that has a 90 wait period before you can get...

Sponsor financial information (esp. unemployed/student sponsors)

I'm kind of torn on that. If it was me I'd have trouble deciding to just give them what was asked for or go a little farther and provide extra information in case they have a "hidden agenda" and are also looking for information that Canadianwoman is suggesting............ :-\ ::). In the end...

Sponsor financial information (esp. unemployed/student sponsors)

How about adding a copy of each of your resumes and a list of the types of jobs each of you will be seeking, websites you plan to post on (e.g. monster.ca, workopolis.com), a time frame for each of you and maybe some head hunters/employment agencies you plan to contact?

    Making Marriage work?

Reading this took me back to elementary school!!! (quite a long time ago, I might add) ;). I remember this being taught as a very main difference (among others) between Canada and the US in terms of ideologies. And to this day, I have always found it normal that people mention their origins...

Sponsoring my husband coming to Canada

That's correct. You should not be listed on this form. He would only list dependent children here. If there are none, I would put "not applicable" in the space for Family Name. He would, however, include you on the "Additional Family Information" form, IMM5406.

    I sent the wrong form?

I would not worry too much. This is fixable. This is what I would suggest: - call 1-800-959-8281, and request the Option C printout. You should recieve this in about a week. I believe they officially tell you 7-10 days but it usually comes faster. - call the CIC call centre 1-888-242-2100...

POST PICS OF YOUR APPLICATION PACKAGE HERE

I think ours was about 1/3 to half that size as well. ;D :o. Oh well, hopefully we all get the prize at the end, no matter the size of our application package. Whether the package is large or small, I think quality is the key. We all achieve that in different ways. ;)

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Great idea. I'm convinced that CIC uses turtles to send it from Mississauga to Buffalo, considering how long it between the sponsership approval letter and the AOR ::). Hopefully, now that the summer is winding down (they may not all be on vacation anymore), you will get it sooner (ours was...

document checklist - most uptodate version?

The most up to date Sponsor Checklist when we submitted in April was IMM 5491 (10-2007)E. The Applicant Checklist for us was in the Region Specific Forms as Appendix A and does not have a Form #.

I also use it. It so far has been a great tool. Stops me from obsessively signing in to CIC when I know it's a waste of time ::) ;)

The PR applicant. The sponsor gets the approval of sponsorship from Mississauga, then the file is transferred to Buffalo for the PR applicant process. Buffalo forwards the AOR to the applicant once the file is recieved and processing starts.

    Confused of UK

My partner and myself were in a similar situation. We had alot of proof, however, it proved difficult for us to be able to live together to meet common-law status, and I was only legally separated at the time, so marriage was not possible. He is from the U.S. so also a visa exempt country...

can an indian passport holder sponsor his same sex partner ?

In order to qualify for family class sponsorship (spouse/common-law/conjugal), the sponsor must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident. Since neither of you has that status at the moment, at least one of you would need to come to Canada under one of the other classes (Federal Skilled...
