Hi people, have done a search but unable to find the answer.

Without going into detail, I have just found out that i may have a medical problem that may require some fairly serious treatment (but not HIV or TB).

When i had my medicals done a couple of months ago, i was (seemingly) as fit as a fiddle and never had ANY problems at all.

Sponsorship stage is approved and our file is being transferred to London right now. Do i need to inform anyone of my change in health - assuming the blood test results come back unfavourably?

What happens if i get my PR visa, but still need some treatment before i can land and this extends beyond my landing date? The treatment SHOULD clear the problem, but not a quick fix - i'm looking at a few months worth after a potential operation.

This i really did not need on top of this process. Nothing is confirmed yet, i'm freaking out over the potential diagnosis on top of a looming deadline from my last medical of early next year and not really sure where i stand...

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. Spousal applicants don't have to worry about the excessive demand on healthcare like other members of the family class do, so as long as it isn't contagious (AIDS or TB), I highly doubt that it will cause a problem.

The good news is that London is processing fairly quickly, so it is likely that you won't have to redo your medical, so CIC doesn't need to be informed. If you need to, perhaps you could land and then return to the UK for a little while to complete your treatment.

Hoping that your test results are fine and that there is no reason to worry! :)

Yes, let's hope for great test results. I agree you probably won't have to redo medical. But since one's health is very important, make sure you take care of yourself and can land and get back to UK, particularly if you are coming to a province that has a 90 wait period before you can get health care. That is very important if and when treatments would be needed.

Try to be kind to yourself. :-*

Sorry to hear about ur condition...what they dont know wont hurt em! Let the sleeping dogs lie, wait until they ask for something from you! Good luck!

Thanks for all the support.

Friday is D-day for the results, so until then all is speculation.

After that i'll have to entertain the logistics of treatment and operations around landing and returning based on the outcome.

Thanks again.
